Course Curriculum Overview

I chose electrical for the very reason of increasing opportunities in this field...college prepares is for the industrial exposure after completing the course ..the course syllabus for us is really outdated but ktu has modified the syllabus for the upcoming batches

Internships Opportunities

The college provides internship opportunities from the 3rd year onwards in which students have to attend interviews and also it will be based on skills..other than this students can do internship from outside the college with the colleges permission

Placement Experience

From sem 6 onwards the students can attend the placement interviews and also attend various internships...top companies visit the college every year and almost everyone who sits for interview gets placed

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is based on the mode of admission here... student taking admission in merit seat is 40k per year and for management students it is 70k per year and for NRI students the fees is higher which 1.2lakhs per annual and also there a re a lot of scholarship which helps In decreasing the fees

Campus Life

The main event of our college is out techfest which is conducted annually which is a 3 day program which provides a lot of technical events and workshops and also fun and enjoyment..there is also annual sports and arts fest to upbring the talented students

Hostel Facilities

The college has both ladies and mens hostel ...both of them providea food too...other than this there are a lot of pg and home rents near the college itself...the admission to mens hostel is based on the distance from their home to college

The professors of our department are higly educated and qualified and has a hold of several top degrees and also they are very approachable in clearing our doubts..the exams are conducted and managed by ktu...ktu conducts examination sem wise and there are two internal exams in between the sem exam

IIIT KOTTAYAM - a Honest review

Placement Experience:

As seniors said the average package is around 10lpa.If you have descent skills and above 8 cgpa you will get this average package. If you upskill yourself with effort which many students do here then you can also get above 15lpa which many seniors got.The highest package was off-campus by an ECE Student in Google despite having cgpa around 6.He had very good skills as a full stack developer.

IIST - A good campus to live but with high restrictions.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

MEC EEE REVIEW

I applied to cet, tkm, gec for branches eee and ec My first option was cet for which i couldn't get admission due to my rank. Cet requires rank below 1000. And my second option was mec (my college). MEC Thrikkakkara: Strong Academics and Placements, but Room for Infrastructure Growth

My cousin studied here few years back and is now working a top tech company.I applied for Cs in MSRIT and AMRITA,but the fee structure over there is too high(around 3-4 lakh per year).Here overall fee amount is equivalent the yearly fee.To get admission in MEC,a person needs to write keam exam .Three phases of allotment are held in here.At the beginning of all allotment,we could change our preferences.For CSE BATCH,CUTOFF RANK FOR merit is around 2k and Management around 3.5k .For CSBS it's around 3k for Merit and 7-8k for management....Read More

Good for social life but very minimal infrastructure and facilities

The reason I chose this college over other options were due to the prime location in which it is present and due to the city it is present in . MEC is renowned for the placement opportunities available in this college and is placed in the top 3 colleges in Kerala in terms of placemenets . The admission is based on the student's KEAM rank and this rank decides whether you get the Merit seat or management seat . For others you also have an NRI seat .
