I liked the affordability of the college as the fee structure is low.

Dislikes

The college is very small. The infrastructure is not very appealing. There is no ground, just a building.
There is no placement assistance by the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is according to UGC. It includes all the relevant subjects of B.com hons. Every semester has atleast one hons paper. The examination of non-hons paper is in MCQ format and Hons. paper is in written non-MCQ format. There is an internal exam before every semester examination of 20 marks.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 3900 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for a particular semester is around 500-600 as it is a semi government college. There was an admission fee of around 1300. There are a total of six semester. That made the total fee around 3600.

Campus Life

My experience has not been very good with the college. There is no proper campus life, especially for people who do not belong to West Bengal. There is an annual fest somewhere around November. There are no sports activities because of the lack of infrastructure. There is a student union to help students and resolve their issues.

Admission

I heard good things about the college as it is one of the best colleges in Kolkata. My known ones have got a good placement from the college in the past. I thought it would be a good fit for me and my career.

Faculty

The faculty is not very motivated towards teaching properly. They mostly teach in Bengali, which makes it difficult for non-Bengalis to understand. They are not very welcoming to outsiders. The faculty is well-experienced but is not approachable.

Placement Experience:

Well among the curriculum of Bcom my most favourite is the management and Economics part. Cause I really love them and the teachers of that subject are really good . The improvement that I would want is the professors to come to the classes and teach us and finish the syllabus on time.

Placement Experience:

It is a 4 year programme which offers placements. But if someone doesn't get direct placement they are still skilled enough to get a job off campus and it can go from 6 LPA to 12 LPA. If the performance is very poor they can't go to the 4th year.

Umesh Chandra is not a good college don't take admission there very poor infrastructure

I choose the four BCom Honours in accountancy and Finance because I grew up in a Commerce background household and all my family members are BCom graduate and I want to be an investment banker with SAP schedule on my degree that is why I choose this code and talk about the faculty student ratio the faculty was good according to the number of students present in the class and in the college the qualification for the faculty is very good teachers are very nice and friendly but I don't get to understand what this week due to me not knowing Bengali so called language barrier was present exams and all were followed by the Calcutta University curriculum in 75 is to 25 ratio 75 marks paper from CU and 25 marks from the college itself 5 marks for attendance 10 marks for internal written test and 10 marks for MCQ

Do Right Things Now For Your Future

Placement Experience:

After 4th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Out of the companies some of them are Institute of Charter Accountancy, Institute of GST ETC. They give us some packages for jobs. Like the highest package is about 50000 rupees and the lowest is 15000 rupees. Only few studets get chance in this companies. Like 5-10% students. I want to be a bank manager so i just keep my study moving on.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks.
