Likes

Lives upto it's reputation. Faculty members are very highly qualified and provide top class teaching.
The active participation in co curriculars. There are so many activities happening all over the year.
The fees is highly affordable and students from any class of the society can take admission there

Dislikes

Absence of canteen which makes it difficult for the students to have their lunch or tiffin in college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum provides a vast knowledge about accounting and finance for which I decided to choose this course. It prepares us for the real world applications really well. The college should try to adapt some modern technologies for teaching.

Class Size: 90Course Fees: INR 1300 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees is extremely affordable and low which makes it easier for many of the students and there are no frequent hikes in the fees. The complete cost of education also comes out to be very low. Scholarships are available. But till now we haven't got any internship or campus employment opportunities. Hope to get it in the future.

Campus Life

Campus Life is very enjoyable and enthusiastic. There are a lots of events and festivals happening in college all around the year and students are also extremely participative. Sports day is also held annually. But no specific club is there in college which should have been there.

Admission

The cutoff goes high like 95-96% each year. But reservation benefits are also there. The application form, dates every details are available in the college website. There is no entrance test. Admission is given on the basis of class12th marks

Faculty

There are a huge number of professors in college and each one of them are highly qualified. Their approach towards teaching and mentorship is very friendly and passionate. They are super easy to interact with and work very effectively.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. The exams were conducted very soon in few semester only giving 3 months for the students to prepare . the professors were good at teaching and somehow used to complete the syllabus

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

Placement Experience:

At our college placements are good and many core companies or finance and IT are here for placements and intenrships as well. Average placements from what I have checked is around 4-5 lakhs per year for B.Com (Hons) students.

SAJC - From The Eye of a Student.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course outdated. Teaching methods are old. No case studies, competitions or project of any sort is there in the curriculum. Although a project of 100 marks is there in the final sem, but I don't think that's enough. There is no practicality in the curriculum and usability in career. The syllabus really needs an uplifment.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
