- Hindu College has very strict policy related to ragging and personally I haven't come across any ragging. It would not be wrong to say that it's a no ragging sone but if anyone feels uncomfortable the vigilance cell takes appropriate action
- There are over 50 societies and even more initiatives to take part in to cultivate extra curricular skills and real life skills in students and providing exposure.
- The campus is large and has all necessary facilities. It is also green and beautiful
Dislikes
- Classes in the old block do not have air conditioners
Course Curriculum Overview
Under the National Education Policy (NEP), your batch will have the opportunity to exercise greater flexibility in your course selection. You will be able to choose one Value Addition Course (VAC) from a range of options, one Skill Enhancement Course (SEC), one Ability Enhancement Course (AEC), and one Generic Elective (GE). Additionally, there will be three compulsory Discipline Specific Course (DSC) papers that students must undertake to develop a comprehensive understanding of their chosen field. This new course structure aims to provide students with a well-rounded and customizable education, empowering them to pursue their academic interests and career goals.
Internships Opportunities
Not much aware about this because I am a first year student. But doing bsc Zoology from Hindu is better than any other college. However due to limited scope of this course opportunities are rather less.
Placement Experience
Students from 3rd yearare eligible for campus placements. The rationof students getting placed is rather low for BSc Zoology Hons. My plan after getting the degree is to appear for Indian Forest Services Exam.
Fees and Financial Aid
My college is Hindu College, University of Delhi and I am pursuing BSc.(H) Zoology first year. I am a General Category student. Admission is via CUET and I paid INR 29,470 for this year. For OBC - INR 29,470 For SC/ST-INR 29,285 This includes the tuition fees.
Campus Life
There is a plethora of fests organised the annual fest MECCA is renowned for being one of the best fests organised all over India. There are several other fests of cultural societies. There are over 50+ societies ranging from Indian music, dance to art and to environment. To avail library services students require to get library card made and then they can issue the books. The seniors also help and provide PDFs of books. The old block is rather less advanced but the new science block is well equipped with labs etc. Several societies are run for student welfare like SC ST CELL, NORTH EAST CELL, BUNIYAAD- CIVIL SERVICES SOCIETY, NSS etc.
Admission
Hindu College was my first preference in DU CSAS Portal Preference List. So I didn't seem rejection. It is India's top college as per NIRF Ranking 2024. Spread across a sprawling 25-acre campus, Hindu College boasts one of the largest and most vibrant educational spaces within the University of Delhi. Admission is via CUET UG. After appearing for the examination and results candidates are required to register on DU CSAS Portal. They need to create a preference list according to the course and college and then if they clear the cut offs they will have to make the payment and they will be given admission.
Faculty
The faculty is highly experienced with years of teaching expertise and field knowledge and they are extremely friendly and approachable. The faculty to student ratio is healthy My Ecology teacher explains concept very well and believes in out of the box thinking and his classes urge us to brainnstorm. He is also very friendly and approachable.
