Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I chose bcom hons as you might have heard that it's one of the courses which is hard to get in DU hence why. This course certainly needs improvement in some areas like lab classes should be held every alternate semester instead of every semester as it could turn out to be pretty hectic.

Internships Opportunities

0.5

There might be internship opportunities available in multiple societies, you can get internships with companies like Deloitte or EY maybe if you do well. Personally i don't have any internship experience as i haven't applied for one yet.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly fee for bcom hons in Sgtb Khalsa college, DU is 29,480 rs and the registration fee when you register for semester exam is around 1500 rs. It might be a little easy for you to get in this college if you're a sikh as this college has a quota called ''sikh minority'' and you can avail it if you're one.

Campus Life

1.5

Lashkara is the annual fest of SGTB Khalsa College. There are a variety of books available in the library including religious, literature, commerce, science, arts etc. ACs and whiteboards are available in almost every classroom along with projector. The ground of this college is pretty big along with sports equipments like badminton rackets, shuttle corks, footballs etc. There are multiple clubs available for you to join like Vastram, NSS, NCC etc. These clubs might shape your personality in a good way.

Hostel Facilities

2

The hostel is called Mata Gujri Girls Hostel. It's a triple sharing accomodation along with an attached bathroom and AC (timings are there). The meals are not that great to be honest, lunch is good and personally i don't like the dinner and i can't comment on breakfast as i've rarely had breakfast lol. The hostel might be a bit expensive for the facilities it offers (there is no induction to cook by yourself). Also, for someone who likes to stay outside late at night then this place isn't for you as the summer timing to be back in the hostel is 7:30 and for winter it is 7. There is no lift as well and you'll have to carry your luggage by yourself via stairs as the maids don't help too.

Admission

Actually it might sound funny but i put sgtb khalsa college on top of my preference list because before taking admission in this college i was really attracted to punjabi culture so i put this college on top. Also you'll have to appear for CUET if you want to get into any college of Delhi University.

Faculty

2

The approachability factor to the faculties depends on teacher to teacher, some are quite approachable whereas some are not. The subjects would be pretty easy for one in the first two semesters but the difficulty level increases gradually that's for sure. There are students who get back in their exams but if you study consistently that won't be the case for you and one last thing even if you don't feel like going to classes it's completely okay just make sure to study at home and be in touch with what's going on.

Other Applied Colleges

Mata Sundri College for Women | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com]

i didn't opt for mata sundri college because sgtb khalsa college is in north campus and apparently north campus is superior hence why

Mata Sundri College for Women | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com]

Course Curriculum Overview:

Bcom that they offered was good enough to prepare one for the real world applications as various examples and field activities were also conducted by the college at that time . Teacher student ratio should be taken care of along with lethargic teaching methods like lecture method . Exams were held every 6 months and the difficulty level was easy.

Placement Experience:

There is a placement cell within the colleges but numerous are not dynamic and those who are dynamic do not offer great arrangements. As it were Srcc , LSR or St. Stephens offer pleasant placements. Most colleges offer arrangements between 3 - 4 lacs but over said colleges can give you situations with normal 8 lacs. But, I would prescribe you to not go for placements but higher things because it will increment your information and assist you to advance in your work and do it effectively whereas doing work fair after graduation will not allow you to regard merely continuously needed in the corporate world.
