Remarks

This is the best college in India after IISC Bangalore for basic scince. College managment is very nice.

Entrance Preview

For the admission in this collage there are three streams:-1) KVPY (Student are eligible who passed in KVPY in Class XI and XII) 2) IIT JEE (JEE Advanced qualified student till 10000 rank are eligible) 3) State Board (There is state board cut off marks decided by DST (Department of Science and Technology) Every year, If you eligible Then you have to appear for an aptitude test. They do not give any rank, they just published a list of student who is qualified in the aptitude test) PS:-JEE Advanced and KVPY qualified student are no need to appear in Aptitude Test. I always wanted to go for pure Science Field, that`s why I took admission in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

It is a five year dual degree program for bright and motivated science students who have passed class XII. The program integrates classroom learning with research and provides ample scope for multidisciplinary interactions. The training during the program enables students to pursue a career in academia, R&D institutes and science based industries.

Internships Opportunities

BS-MS students are eligible for either KVPY or INSPIRE scholarship based on continued academic performance, as per the norms of KVPY/Inspire scheme. Every student get 5000/month stipend and Contingency 20000/year.

There is so many clubs like cricket, badminton, football, volleyball, athletics, dance, drama, literary, movie, music, science, trekking, gymnast etc. which is very actives clubs and it entertained throughout year. We also have a science fest name INQUVESTA , which is great crowd pulling from other institute.

Fees and Financial Aid

Girls and boys ratio in the institute are 1:3. There is so many extracurricular activities happening throughout year.The IISER-K Gymkhana is the students' governing organization of IISER Kolkata. Its aim is to advance the general cause of the student body of the Institute. Labs are very good and have many facilities.

Most of the institute alumni are doing their Ph.D in prestigious institute in all over the world. They are connected via social network as well as outreach committee of the institute. They are very helpful and provide us many materials which is help us to apply for PhD in prestigious institute.

Exam Structure
