Course Curriculum Overview

We follow 2019 scheme curriculum under the APJ Kerala Technical University of kerala. 2019 scheme is being modified from 2024 and new curriculum is going to be implemented. The curriculum is very much relevant in terms of career oppurtunities.

Internships Opportunities

The placement cell off oru college not only focuses on campus placements but also in giving internship opportuinities to the students so that they can nurtere their carrer experinence. Companies come here with internship opportunities with an average stipend of 50000rs.

Placement Experience

Our college offers great placement oppurtunities not only for Computer based branches but also for other branches. So many companies come here for recruiting from us like Sobha Constructions, Oracle, Redbus, Rockstar gaming etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college provide merit seats and management seats which have 2 different fee structure. Merit fees for us is 35000rs per year and management fees is 35000rs per semester. Our college also provide scholarships coming under the university.

Campus Life

Overall the college experience is very good. There are many clubs in the college that you yould take part in and can nurture you various skills and other areas of improvement, like leadership qualities, speaking ability, management skilss etc.

Hostel Facilities

Oru college has its own Mens and Ladies hostel. The Mens hostel is located inside the college campus but ladies hostel is not. Hostel experience is one of the best thing in our college and the hostel is run by the student committe itself, so no worries.

Hostel Fee: INR 4500 per year

Admission

This college provides great placement oppurtunities mostly for the computer branches but other branches also gets benefitted. Admission is based on KEAM rank list published by CEE after KEAM exam, higher the rank you will get admission in good colleges.

Faculty

Very friendly and experienced techers. Totally there are 8 semesters across 4yrs, and in each semester we will have approximately 5 theory papers and 2 practical papers. 40 is the pass mark of theory paper out of 100 and internal pass mark for theory is 35 out of 50.

College Feels Like Home

Placement Experience:

The placement department in our college is great and is always trying to bring good companies to the college. The placement training starts from semester 7. Our top recruiter include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, NocoBD, Delloite, etc. and our mechanical, civil, EEE,ECE all got placements with avg of 4lpa.The highest package where 12 Lpa for SAP. My plans is to get a good job and lead a stable life.

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows

My honest review of ICET

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for attending campus placement from semester 7. Some companies that visits ICET are Utc global, Layland, DeltaX, etc. The average package given by the companies are 3 lpa. The percentage of students getting placed are around 40%. I plan to placed at any company.

I applied to cet, tkm, gec for branches eee and ec My first option was cet for which i couldn't get admission due to my rank. Cet requires rank below 1000. And my second option was mec (my college). MEC Thrikkakkara: Strong Academics and Placements, but Room for Infrastructure Growth

My cousin studied here few years back and is now working a top tech company.I applied for Cs in MSRIT and AMRITA,but the fee structure over there is too high(around 3-4 lakh per year).Here overall fee amount is equivalent the yearly fee.To get admission in MEC,a person needs to write keam exam .Three phases of allotment are held in here.At the beginning of all allotment,we could change our preferences.For CSE BATCH,CUTOFF RANK FOR merit is around 2k and Management around 3.5k .For CSBS it's around 3k for Merit and 7-8k for management....Read More

Good for social life but very minimal infrastructure and facilities

The reason I chose this college over other options were due to the prime location in which it is present and due to the city it is present in . MEC is renowned for the placement opportunities available in this college and is placed in the top 3 colleges in Kerala in terms of placemenets . The admission is based on the student's KEAM rank and this rank decides whether you get the Merit seat or management seat . For others you also have an NRI seat .
