Likes

First thing that strike my mind while considering the likes in the campus will be definetly the professors.In my branch proffesors are better helping students and guiding them.I can say this because in the first year we had subjects of other brances
sports facilities and support.fully active sports members and gym
meeting people from different parts of india and very few forign students.exchanging the knowledge and culture

Dislikes

food availabilities.many of them are unhygenic and expensive(except nescafe but costly )
responds from academic section for some documents or information are not good enough and delay
campus is besides the highway and almost 17 km from city.difficult to go out for any needs.

Course Curriculum Overview

the curriculum gives foundation knowledge of our course. starting from the very basics in the first year. I suppose the curriculum is not enough to see its relevance in this modern world where its applications are so much carried further. I think this part should be also included. Exams are hard to score good marks sometimes even to pass.

as a second year ,im still learning about the internship programs in campus.i heard mostly from ,amazon ,intel ,mediatec etc.and many students go through off campus. students from electronics background are really getting benefits from these programs rather than other branches except cse

during 3rd year students are eligible for interwiews.many companies visit the campus for placing mostly electronics companies and it also.in my branch there is 100% placementfor those who are eligible .many of them are at it sector,average package of 8.5la/ann.higest will be between 20-25la/ann.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't have much idea about campus employment opportunities (if it was relevant on campus, I would have known) Scholarships are there but I didn't get any of those I applied for. I took an edu loan for my expenses which will be 51k for academics and 50k for mess annually. nothing about the fee increase policy I know of. fee structure for the full course is provided and fixed.

Campus Life

infrastructure availability is agreeable but the campus doesn't have much greener space to breathe fresh air. campus festivals like Utkarsh and Techniti are all not good enough for studying purposes, they provide everything not for others. clubs are not that engaging and efficient.

Hostel Facilities

i got admission little late,so i got the last hostel,which has 2 people in 1 sitting room.very compacted and food is not that good.i got food poisoned once.hostel is not good enough for the money we paying.one room designed for one person but shared between two members with only i desk ,no chair,could barely walk.toilets are ok.

Hostel Fee: INR 24000 per year

Admission

admission procedured in nitj is a real headache.too much paper work and online filling for both hostel and campus admission.it leads to lot of delay and no proper facilities for photocopies during admission.i got 32001 open rank in jee mains.i didnt got admission for me in nitc ,so i joined herewhich had acut off of 34k

Faculty

Faculty members are helpfull and well qualified. I cant agree on their teaching methods but they will really help you if you confront them personally.they are all well qualified and informed,however only few of them teach in english only.i didnt interacted them with much because i didnt want to spend so much of my time in only studying .

Life at CGC Landran

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak.That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.

Life at NIT Jalandhar : A comprehensive student perspective

I applied to several institutions including NIT Jalandhar, NIT Srinagar and UIET Hoshiarpur And Pec Chandigarh But choose NIT Jalandhar due to its robust placement record well recognised NIT brand and strong industry connections. NIT Jalandhar offers better infrastructure, facility expertise and peer environment compared to other options I had while I got confirmed admissions from uiet Hoshiarpur and nit Jalandhar my preference for a national level campus experience and comprehensive curriculum lead me here. My JEE main rank mit nit Jalandhar's cutoff whereas I couldn't qualify for top iits due to higher cut off the admission process is straightforward students must clear JEE main participate in Jossa counselling and meet annual cut offs .The eligibility is 75% in class 12th And a valid JEE main score. I got 28102 rank in jee mains and 24576 rank in jee advanced My primary goal was to get into any iit but I can't get due to my rank if I would have got any iit o would have chosen it over In josaa counselling I got iiit bhopal cse which was quite a good option because bhopal is not so distant from home and also has good placement but it has many problems like no permanent campus and hostels etc and very high fees which I can't afford So in next round I got nit jalandhar ice over it because it is a cirtcutal branch enough options in tech and core both morover it comes with a nit tag and less fees and I want clg in north...Read More
