Honest review about TINT

I opted for computer Science and business system because my rank was not sufficient for getting cse or it branches. CSBS is a part of CSE and can be choosen at higher rank than cse. The degree that students get after the course will have BTech in Computer Science and Engineering mentioned on it. The curriculum is similar as cse and only 2-3 subjects are different. The subject CSBS is as essential as any IT course and it has the same importance as the other branches. There 4 continuous assessments,2 practicals and one end semester exams in semester.

The tuition fees as of now (2024) is around 5 lakhs rupees that has increased in the last 3 years. When I took admission the fees was 4.80 lakhs rupees and compulsory charge of ?5000 for uniform and bag,and a charge of ?1200 for every semester exam. There scholarship benefits for West Bengal domicile students. Students credit card is also provided.

There are many fests and events that take place in college every year. These events include concerts,spots fest, cultural and traditional events, etc. The books in library are limited to only for the respective course of students. There only subjective books and all books are related to the course offered by the college. The classrooms are simple and no advancement is there and the computer labs have projectors on which practicals are held. Sports fest is held every year that includes football, cricket, badminton,chess,carrom,etc and cultural fests are also held that include singing, dancing,drama ,etc. There are no specific student-run groups and clubs in the college that impact on student life

For BTech courses the eligibility is decided from the competitive exams like WBJEE and JEE mains. Both the exams are held regularly every year and forms are available online. Reservation benefits are also there in both the exams for students with EWS,SC/ST,OBC,etc. The exams that are held are not difficult if you want to get admission in this college. A rank from 15k to 30 k in WBJEE can help you to get a good course in this college as the cutoff is not difficult to cross.

The faculty to students ratio is not satisfactory. There are times when classes are cancelled and no replacement class is held. Very few teachers are there for each subject. The faculty members play a good role in mentorship. Each branch has own mentors and they assist and help us in any doubt. We can interact any time with the teacher on the they hold our classes except during lunch hours and if they have some other classes.
