Course Curriculum Overview
Being a political science student I felt the syllabus was vast but necessary. We learned about multiple political philosophers and their diverse ideas on varying concepts, we studied the international arena now and in the past, we went through deep analysis of Indian and international thoughts, and much more. The exam is conducted the same throughout the university. It is neither too difficult nor too easy but it is way too lengthy to be able to complete 4 big answers in mere 3 hours.
Fees and Financial Aid
Being in DU, one of the best perks is the fees are almost negligible as compared to big private colleges. I covered my 3 years of graduation under 35000 including other expenses such as club or department fees. There are also a lot of scholarships for example sports scholarships (0 fees for 1 year), single girl child scholarships, and many more. I haven't taken any campus employment so I wouldn't know about that.
Campus Life
There are a lot of festivals celebrated in college such as the annual day(April) sports day(March), Diwali fest ZIZTATVA (oct-nov) and Navaratri fest(October), and the highlight event REVERIE(February). The library is huge with resources available in both English and Hindi and various departments and subjects which makes it available for everyone to have access to anything that interests them. Many classrooms are equipped with projectors and there are multiple computer labs with internet connections available. Being a sports student I would say that the sports and extracurricular activities are conducted every week and are open for every student and faculty as well. There are multiple social clubs such as Izhaar for mental health, Saarthi for sports students' mental health, NSS for social services, and many more.
Admission
As of admissions in 2021, there were no entrances or trials for sports so it was very easy for me to get into Gargi. The eligibility for my course was just having a 12th marksheet, nothing else. All information was available at the University site as well as on multiple YouTube platforms. However, I believe the admission process should be made a little less hectic as a lot of students don't have the resources to do everything online. As far as exams are concerned, theory is conducted after every 4 to 5 months and is a bit hectic because sometimes you would only get 1 day between 2 consecutive exams and that would be difficult for the student to cover the syllabus.
Faculty
We had 1 teacher for each subject teaching a class of 50-60 students. Overall it never felt that the ratio was off, the teachers are well educated that makes it easier for everyone to grasp the concept and if not, they were always ready offline as well as online to help.
