Course Curriculum Overview

First of all, Electrical engineering is one of my favorite department and due to the core department, it opens most of the way for campusing and other purposes. Like the IT sector, power plants, Govt, and services. Some of the labs also provide the real-life and industry-level experiences. In the case of course curriculum it should be upgraded to the latest subjects and curriculum and by teaching method, a smart board should also be used.The semester exam question level is moderate to hard, but is also be ok, timing is perfect.

Class Size: 125Course Fees: INR 7500 per year

Internships Opportunities

ITC, vehicle companies, and many more companies are available for internships with a stipend of 20 to 30k. During this time many projects done by professors, on their own are also a great credibility and opportunity for everyone.

Placement Experience

From 5 or 6th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. from a core point of view Texas, aura semiconductor, SK Samanta, Bechtel, PWC, solar panel company, and from IT's Accenture, wipro, Microsoft, google etc. The average package is 8lpa and the highest is 35 lpa apx. Most of the students are placed, Getting a good paying job and higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fees are very nominal. The complete cost is 10,000 All types of scholarships are available for all and financial aid students. which are enough beneficial. All types of campusing are appeared here, system engineer, business analyst, data analyst.

Campus Life

Many festivals are organised by the electrical engineering department and the whole campus also. like Sanskriti, convolution, freshers, srijan etc. Most of the books are available in the central and departmental libraries. Smart boards must be used in the classroom, which will also be beneficial for us. Sports activities are also done here. Many types of social groups, coding clubs, and student portals are done by Jadavpur faculties and students.

Admission

First eligibility is clear the WBJEE or JEE-MAINS and also be admitted from JELET exam. All the necessaries are given in the form of notice in the Jadavpur website. Exam timing are ok but difficulty level is somehow hard sometimes in case of some subjects. Admission process are ok.

Faculty

The Jadavpur faculties are both mindful and teach in a particular way that should be understood by students. From a project perspective, they are very helpful and quiet. not only in projects they also help in any situation. Some of the professors are very good and understandable. The faculty and student ratio is normal as it should be.

Indusrrial training is provided to us and engineering industries like L&T, Bhel, IRS and HAL among others which are in full swing are among the colleges that hires IIT KGP students with an average package of no less than 15-18 lakhs yearly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well developed and the major areas of learning are adequately addressed. It has prepared students for practice as well as for further education. I wanted to point at such aspects of teaching design that need to be developed : offerings of practical projects and a greater focus on interactive teaching methods. Exams are scheduledd but may prove to need extra assistane for comprehension of some of the contents.

Jadavpur University is one of the most renowned universities in India. I've applied in JNU but couldn't make it there as I didn't have enough preperation. Jadavpur University a dream come true for a lower middle class student

After getting my WBJEE rank my first college allotted was Heritage Institute of Technology. After that I got Kalyani Government Engineering College and University of Calcutta respectively. But Jadavpur University was an obvious choice for me when I got admission into it during its decentralized counselling. In heritage I got Computer Science and Engineering where as in Kalyani I got electrical engineering and in University of Calcutta I got information technology. But all of this colleges placement is not compable with Jadavpur University Civil Engineering at all. Jadavpur University in terms of fees and placement is way ahead then any other colleges that comes under WBJEE. You have to score at least under 3000 rank to get your dream college that is Jadavpur University....Read More

A Brief Review of Jadavpur University , Kolkata

I tried to get admission to other colleges like IITs, NITs, BITS etc. I secured a rank of about 14k in JEE Advanced and 7k in JEE Mains but was not getting a suitable college+branch combination in the IITs and NITs. I secured a rank of 855 in WBJEE and easily got admission in the electrical department at JU. JU ranks 12 in engineering , 9 in universities and 17 in overall category as of NIRF 2024. It is also very good for placements and research opportunities .Also , fee structure is quite less and it is near my house , so was very suitable for me . The admission process was also a smooth one . We has to report at JU with necessary documents and we got a provisonal admission form . After successful fee payment , i got admitted in the electrical department of JU. Most students prefer the CSE or IT department due the high packages. The cutoff of CSE is 150 , IT is 400 , EE 1100 rank as of 2023 in JU based on WBJEE exam . So , it is quite competitive to get admission here....Read More
