Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose BA Hons political science for my graduation.First of all I have keen interest in this subject.During my graduation I learnt different aspects of political science which I was unaware during my school days . Second this is important for my career to clear UPSC exams and other government exams . The changes I would suggest that there is need of revising tha syllabus. Because suddenly a lot of syllabus is added and we as students get panic and cover half of the portion of syllabus. Exams are taken evenly throughout the semester to allow for adequate preparation . Every year there is two semester. Mock tests are taken by professor frequently.

Internships Opportunities

3

For my course there was very less changes of internship. But one can attend many interactive seminars. My college often organises seminars.some times they were calling prestigious personality also . I once tried vice chancellor internship which they were providing during my last year . It was paid one for 3 months during summer days.

Fees and Financial Aid

1st year—-approx. rs 10000 2nd year—rs 11200 3rd year - rs 10900 rs 500 is the fee for semester exams . The scholarship I was given was based on my academic result, which was rs 800. But there are many scholarships given for different categories.

Campus Life

4

University of Delhi is famous for its fests. Every college do their fests annually besides this they also organise sports activities,NCC fests, Cultural fests . In many colleges there is AC in classroom besides projector. There are different clubs and societies like music dance debate republica ( for political science) etc . The library provides a wide range of books which is enough during our course. They charge fines for delay of submitting books of the Library. One can issue books for 15 days .

Admission

I took admission in the basis of merit list . I scored 96% in my Xll standard. The university of Delhi provide portal for admission which one is required to fill and it costs ?1000. The admission process goes for months mainly 2 .The process of admission is very smooth and if any mistake is done correction window is also open.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty of my college is very supportive. Most of the professors use interaction sessions to teach the student . Professor Sumit and Indra mohan Jha are my favourite. They engage students through interactive teaching methods, provide timely feedback, and create a supportive learning environment often contribute to positive educational outcomes. Apart from academics they also help to develop our character personality. If today after my graduation they are in touch with us.

The curriculum is very broad and relevant, it covers both theory and practical aspects of the subject. It is very nice to prepare for further higher studies, though more real-world cast studies and interactive teaching.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant to the current aspects of real world. It is also very focused on the practical component of the subject and helps us know how to apply our theoretical concepts in real life. Aspects that influenced me were: the practicality, the relatibiltiy of concepts and the testing approaches as well.

Placement Experience:

Since i am 2nd year myself, hearing from seniors, seeing placement cell activities and reading reports, placement at ipcw are decent but far from perfect. The placement drive is not as huge or reliable as some commerce Acc. to the nirf report, for ug courses out of 1204 eligible students 118 got placed, which is roughly 9-10, for pg course, out of 100 eligible students only 6 got placed. Median package for UG was 6.20 lakhs per annum, and for pg is 6.7 lakhs per annum. In earlier years (2022-23) , median UG package was higher. The highest package went to 23 lakhs per annum which was quite impressive. It was from DE Show and co., Wipro, Capgeminie etc. there are regular recruiters like DE. Shaw abd co.,Wipro, Capegemini, Godrej properties, Sirion Labs etc. What i feel personaly as an eco hons. student unless i build extra i cant really expect placement. Masters and competetive exams are next option

The course curriculum I took is okay considering the low placement percentage from the college's side which is I would say sometimes bad and good at the same time as the students can find their own way around such things. Faculty just complete the topics. we have to study ourselves.
