Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is pretty extensive. NEP doesn't help with the fact that we have to cover so much along with other unnecessary subjects like vac and aec. Our classes start at 8:30 and end at 4 everyday.... sometimes 5 so it is definitely a hustle. The curriculum does it well to prepare you for real life but you HAVE TO have done internships because they'll make your life 1000% easier.

Placement Experience

3

There is a placement cell in the college which provides, i'd say okay-ish placements. Considering I'm a psych major, I don't see practically any placements related to psych. Most are useful for eco or b com students or management or of the like. There are however opportunities for social media manager and stuff of someone wants to earn some money

Fees and Financial Aid

The complete cost won't go over 30000 per year. I am not aware of any scholarships awarded by the college itself. I haven't taken up any campus employment as well. Pretty much all DU colleges are affordable, JMC is affordable AND good

Campus Life

5

Societies are mostly run by students with little teacher influence so they're quite free. We have a student portal where you can see your student profile, attendance, and fill in all your details of whatever competitions you've won or internships and cgpa and stuff. It's basically an online student record. Our annual festival is montage and is typically held in March or April. Although theprincipal didn't really let us have it last year(2023) we had it this year except we had to forgo all our societal festivals for it. Sports is cool, there is a lot of involvement in sports. I have a few friends who are in sports and they are always busy with it. Library has a pretty good collection of books and for studying, teachers usually provide compiled notes you can buy from the printout shop.

Admission

The admission process included giving a CUET exam which is the common university entrance test. After giving the exam you partake in the admission process online where you fill in all your details including your CUET details and then fill a preference list of colleges and courses. After the preference list is filled and submitted( I'd advise you fill it carefully) you'll be allocated colleges as the allocation lists are released. The allocation is done in a way so you get the highest preference possible at a time and as the lists proceed, you may be able to jump to an even higher preference. If you freeze your seat however, you won't get any allocations further. Sports and ECA lists come after the general lists with ECA having ECA 1 AND ECA 2. After you've gotten your preference of choice you go to your college submit a few more documents and you're done! Enjoy your new college life~

Faculty

There are 79 students in our classroom and you'd think how the teachers manage to grab attention of each student in such a big class but they do. They do try their best to include everyone. You can pretty much approach any teacher at any time and their cool with taking personal extra classes as well.

Other Applied Colleges

Shyama Prasad Mukherji College For Women | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Applied Psychology)

JMC is overall better in terms of both infrastructure and course

Course Curriculum Overview:

It DU, so i think for many students it comes down to if you are able to make it to cutt off list. So my decision was based on it. I cleared the cutt off list for english hons so i took it. I wanted to make my way for govt job, so it was all about getting a degree regardless of what subject i was getting. I think curriculum just make you educated enough to get to know but its the college life that make you come face to face with the real world. exams every 6 months i.e every semester i think its good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really like Human Geography which let me to opt for this paper. Besides theory papers, we also have practical papers every semester through which we conduct surveys, interviews, research which helps us in preparing for the real world applications as well as further academic pursuits if we want to go in the field of Remote sensing or GIS. I feel that for papers including research or management, we should be showcasing how we can mitigate them or adapt in such scenarios and also make drafts for writing a research for further pursuits. However, as the time is limited it is quite understandable as to why its not conducted. We have two exams in a year and they are quite relevant and easy

DTU is one of thos universities which has the biggest substrata when it comes to placements. Nearly 500 companies so far have visited DTU and half of them are a regular partner now. Our course which was induced just 8 years back in DTU has placed students and average package has been around 5 to 6 Lakhs per annum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good and may be seen as average in aspect of my college . I selected my course as I saw myself holding potential in the field of language , English was my strong interest. The curriculum prepares a basic and needed knowledge for everyone accordingly and yes , it may be seen as an important aspect in higher education, experiences from professors and teachers is shared by live demonstrations and examples in order to achieve a good understanding. The improvement in the curriculum may be that of a much regular based classes as there is a frequent cut in classes and sometimes some teachers may slack during the day cancelling classes and stuff . The frequency of exams and timings are arranged and not much complicated related to my course and difficulty may be considered moderate .
