Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

So my course is political science, btw I am science background student but have had keen interest in political scince, so the most attractive thing I found here was with pol sci. I can also opt for maths as I had it as my GE SUBJECT. This carriculum does lot to me, it changes my overall personality and view of world and also opens n number of decent jobs for me.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since college is govt. Owned, so fees is not so high, it is very low for humanities courses and bit high for bsc courses. For example it is 10k per year for BA and for bsc hons it is 15 K, this diference is because of requrments of the course, since Bsc hons requires lab facility and all, so accirdingly is fees structure for that. Also for below poverty line student there is a provision of upto 100 percent scholarship.

Campus Life

5

Overall campus life of the college was good, which included my participation in many societies sports and cocurricular activities, Fest of the college is a feather in the cap, with that there are fest for every festival and natiknal event.

Admission

In my time admision criteria was based on 12 percentage and cutt off is decided by the same, In my time cutt off for my course was 84 percent so I got the admission. Now it is changed since they take CUET intrance test, which happens every year and cut off changes every year for various courses in different colleges

Faculty

4.5

Faculty are in ample amount for each subject and all of them are highly qualified . Their teaching method is brilliant and also because of not so big class size they provide efficient content in each class. I can interact with teacher as often as I want be it in the class or though online mode

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi University - [DU] | Master of Arts [MA] (Political Science)

I git the addmision in Prestigious du college but wanted to go for managment courses

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
