Course Curriculum Overview

5

Having a keen interest in biology, and more towards molecular biology with the increasing importance of the usage and study of the microbial world, drove me towards choosing this course. This course would help in further research work and may establish my own paper or thesis or patent. The course is pretty and the teaching methods are practical-based. The exams are pretty decent and they do provide ample time to prepare ourselves.

Fees and Financial Aid

the total cost of my education which is only the tuition fees is 3.41 lakhs and there are no extra service or compulsory charges the hike for an yearly increase was 10% approx. the college campus holds various DST-sponsored online internships and various kinds of seminars.

Campus Life

5

the annual program that is the college fest takes place which is the grandest of all the events along with other other departmental events that take place year-long. though the dates are not fixed and can vary the library is completely accessible to the students and they can issue a book whenever they want and return it within the stipulated time the classes are smart and the teachers often show videos to demonstrate a concept the sports and extracurricular activities are held in the form of interdepartmental events the college has a lot of clubs and anyone can give an audition and if get selected then can join a club

Admission

students who have passed, their 12th boards and applied for the course. after some time merit lists are announced on the basis of index scores generated according to the marks input of their 12th board by the students all application dates and every information are available on the college website and anyone can visit anytime and see those.

Faculty

5

the faculty to student ratio is pretty good, though our class strength was around 50 still the teachers took care of everyone the faculty is pretty great, highly qualified but easy to apporach, even after college hours they also helped us to remain motivated and looked after if we had any problem

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

Placement Experience:

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

In today's competitive job market it becomes important for the college to not just help students get degrees but also provide them with placements and internships so that they can have the experience needed to stand at a competitive footing with the rest of the candidates in the world. To look into this, St. Xavier's College has a Placement Cell run by Placements officer Mr. Niladri Sinha under whose guidance, various companies visit the college regularly looking for capable young minds to take under their wing and help provide them with the necessary exposure and experience so that they can combat any obstacles that they face.

Placement Experience:

The college offers good placements for economis. Students in their final year are eligible for campus placements and there is a cell dedicated to placements. Many students do not opt for placements and go for higher studies but many students who opt for it, get placed with decent packages. Many well-known companies visit the campus as well. I wish to explore my options after completing the degree as of now.

Placement Experience:

We have a placement cell helping students get placed. They keep posting opportunities like internships and fellowships throughout the year to groom students and give them exposure and experience. Placements can go to very high packages like those in Data Science, Big 4 consulting or core finance or banking jobs. CAs, CFAs and FRMs do well in the placements. The highest packages could surpass 12-13 LPA and median packages are close to 6-7 LPA. DE Shaw, Zomato, Myntra, Meesho, TCS and McKinsey are some top companies coming here.
