Course Curriculum Overview

I have opted Electronics and communication engineering branch. The branch I opted gives me a variety of company offers at placement time if a decent cgpa score is presented. The electronic or hardware sector is growing day by day and discoveries are encouraged by employers with a great package deal.

Class Size: 63Course Fees: INR 45000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Synopsis, intel, ansys are some of the companies that offer internship. But it is really difficult to get through theese major companies. You will need to have a strong resume with a great technical background. Smaller companies also offer internships through the college if you are looking for an experience to fill up your job resume at placement time.

Placement Experience

Campus placements are a great deal at college. Both hardware and software placements are high. Electronic and CS branches gets placed quickly compared to other branches. Off campus placment also gives a great salary package.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is actually pretty reasonable according to the availability of facilities in the college. I have applied for a scholarship ie, post metric scholarship, but I didn't receive the money but the college is not be blamed. Since I am a girl I think Pragathi scholarship would have been beneficial but I never heard of that scholarship from this college. I haven't heard of any financial assistance from the college. I think there are enough college employment opportunities since there is always a pretty good number of placements every year.

Campus Life

There are a number of clubs that work in different aspects such as music, dance, film, social service, technical side, gaming, entrepreneurship etc. Students can divert and join clubs according to their interests. Campus life can be peaceful according to the point of view each person decides to take

Admission

Admission process is pretty good and easy .There will be students to lead us to various classrooms and provide us with instructions. We should apply after writing KEAM and cut-off varies for each courses. There wasn't any aspects of the admission process that I didn't like.

Faculty

Faculties are generally friendly. All the staff contribute their best generally. Though teachers are quite strict about internals. So all students need to excel in their academics and no pitty marks are awarded.

College Feels Like Home

Placement Experience:

The placement department in our college is great and is always trying to bring good companies to the college. The placement training starts from semester 7. Our top recruiter include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, NocoBD, Delloite, etc. and our mechanical, civil, EEE,ECE all got placements with avg of 4lpa.The highest package where 12 Lpa for SAP. My plans is to get a good job and lead a stable life.

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows

My honest review of ICET

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for attending campus placement from semester 7. Some companies that visits ICET are Utc global, Layland, DeltaX, etc. The average package given by the companies are 3 lpa. The percentage of students getting placed are around 40%. I plan to placed at any company.

I applied to cet, tkm, gec for branches eee and ec My first option was cet for which i couldn't get admission due to my rank. Cet requires rank below 1000. And my second option was mec (my college). MEC Thrikkakkara: Strong Academics and Placements, but Room for Infrastructure Growth

My cousin studied here few years back and is now working a top tech company.I applied for Cs in MSRIT and AMRITA,but the fee structure over there is too high(around 3-4 lakh per year).Here overall fee amount is equivalent the yearly fee.To get admission in MEC,a person needs to write keam exam .Three phases of allotment are held in here.At the beginning of all allotment,we could change our preferences.For CSE BATCH,CUTOFF RANK FOR merit is around 2k and Management around 3.5k .For CSBS it's around 3k for Merit and 7-8k for management....Read More

Good for social life but very minimal infrastructure and facilities

The reason I chose this college over other options were due to the prime location in which it is present and due to the city it is present in . MEC is renowned for the placement opportunities available in this college and is placed in the top 3 colleges in Kerala in terms of placemenets . The admission is based on the student's KEAM rank and this rank decides whether you get the Merit seat or management seat . For others you also have an NRI seat .
