SVC Review

The syllabus of the first semester was good and easy to grasp as it mainly comprised of 12th grade syllabus and the students just had to revise it all . This course provide good knowledge in terms of finance and understand the laes realated to daily life businesses , and also helps us to grow in every aspects of life , be it socializing or dealing with people around you . The frequency of exams are unpredictable and worse because some exams are very far away and some have a ittle gap in between for enough prepration . Time frame for writing an exam is very less as compared to the length of paper . The exam for bcom(hons) couse was very tough in the first semester especially the financial accouts exam . Some questions were not even taught in class and coudn't find in previous years papers also . The syllabus should be cut down to the level where every student gets an opportunity to score well for good placements better cgpa. Overall the course curriculum can be improved in some aspects

The internship opportunities provided by this college is insane . There is a society (The Placement Cell) which organises a separate 2 day event known as i- fair under which a huge number of companies come and recruit students for internship with a goos stipend . The i- fair had over 460 students registed with it , A huge number of companies were there for recuiting interns such as Bajaj Capital , Decathlon , GlobalCert ,Teach of India ,etc . The stipend offers were pretty good near 20000-30000 under various departments such as Human Resource Department , Sales Department , Production department , etc . Various tasks and projects are given to students under these internships for studnet's overall growth and developement . Sri Venkateswara College has numerous opportunities in terms of placements and internships with a huge number of reponse . A student must use facities provided by the college and register for each type of event to showcase their talent .

The placements of the college are pretty good and decent . A student can get a good package after graduating from this college . A student can become eligible for placements in the third year of his/her studies and comprises of various rounds of interviews and group discussions . The number of companies visited the college were around 90 , there were 200+ offers made . Several companies which visited the college were De Shaw & Co , KPMG , Delloite , Bajaj Capital , etc . Highest package was 29.7 lakhs and average package was 5.9 lakhs . The company which offered the highest package was De Shaw & Co. The percentage of students getting placed is over 70% . My plans after getting the degree is to pursue for higher education in masters and get dual degree from Sri Venkateswara college and another reputed college for better placements in future . Sri Venkateswara College degree is very valuable in every field as this college provides variety of courses under Delhi University (DU) .

The fees structure of the college is very affordable being just around 16500 , but previous year it was just around 14000 showing a hike of almost 2000 which very high . If it keeps getting higher each year , it will be difficult for economical weaker families to send their ward to this college . The complete cost for education in this course would be around 50000 which is pretty affordable . There are also various scholorships provided for students and also freeships where a student can learn without any fees . The college also provides with internships with stipends for students to learn and earn simultaneously and get an overview of the corporate world . The college also provides with good placements which is a good return on investment . Overall the fees structure are affordable and scholorship schemes are good and decent but the consistent fees hike is a big problem that should be taken care of .

My overall ecperiece with this college is excellent and campus life is very good ,socislizing here is very easy as there is friendly environment and the crown is good . The infrastructure is also great and there are mainly 2 buildings in the campus and there is a separate groun for all kind of sports . The annual biggest fest of this college is NEXUS which is held by FFA and The Students Union, it happens around february -march every year with lots of fun and joy . The library of this college is very good and quiet ,it has every kind of book in abundance, there is separate block for each book and the faculty is always there to hlep you out . Classrooms are very well equiped with projectors . The is separate computer labs . There are various sports and extra curricular activities which are offered on campus by various societies and departments . These societies also do social work which impact student's life in positive manner .

The admission process is pretty simple and the student only has to give an entrance test which is CUET. Applicant can find the application form online and the application fees ranges between 1000-2000. Apllication dstes are annouced after 12th grade result . I awailed the sports quota reservation benefit and there is only one seat of chess quota in the collehe . The areas where admission process can be improved are that the admission process is very long ,a student has to wait for months to know about results . The application dates keeps on extending and students have to wait , after that the exams and result also continues for long , The cutoffs are high . Another thing is that the exam centres are sometimes very far from home and various subjects exams are on different dates which makes it very difficult and hecktik for the student as well as his parents to travel , stay and give exam under such cconditions

The faculty of college comprises of many teachers with a good gender ratio . As a student i have completed 2 semesters in this college and I have a had a mixed experience with the faculty.In the first semester we had all female teachers and they were amazing to interact with and were very lineant.In the second semester we have 2 male teachers and a female teacher and the male teachers are difficult to interact wih , they become strict sometimes and don't listen to the prolems.One teacher keeps on giving extra classes after the student have set off to go home . The faculty to student ratio is okayish as somtimes the larger strength of the class leads to backbench student not able to grab the knowledge . The faculty's approach to teachin is good as it comprises of several revisions and also the use of projector sometimes for better visualization of the students . Students can barely interact and approach the teachers apart from class as they are mostly in a class or busy .
