Remarks
The admission process has gone online since the coming of covid 19 and the system is quite smoother than that offline admission process. Eligibility: For applying to B.com hons one must-have maths in their best 4 of 12th standard final marks Application forms can be found on the du website and one can register by paying a nominal fee (around 150)which is even less for reserved categories. A lot of benefits can be availed if you are from reservation categories like chances of getting good colleges as the cutoff of the reserved category is less than general category student and they also enjoy various scholarship schemes which they had to apply and fee concession for them is also there. Improvement: i would recommend the cutoff system to end and a generalized written test should be considered.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is one of the premieres and famous courses in the university as it offers maximum employment, exposure, and learning opportunities. Faculty and quality of education are what DU is known for so there's nothing to be reviewed for that as it's quite excellent all teachers are so helpful and give insight on practical knowledge rather than rot learning. There's a proper faculty: student ratio maintained in every college and university conducts exams at regular intervals which are neither difficult nor easy, it depends on the person.
Internships Opportunities
Commerce students (who are interested in accounting) can start from C.An office in order to get hands-on experience. These offices hire college-level students and give work based on students’ knowledge. As you are in the second year of your course most probably you will be given work related to preparing journals and ledgers. With time auditing and taxation will come into the picture. This will give you a brief idea of how the process of booking keeping, auditing, and taxation is carried on. You will get incentives too. After your graduation, if you apply for some job it will give you an upper hand over other job seekers.
Placement Experience
There is a placement cell within the colleges but numerous are not dynamic and those who are dynamic do not offer great arrangements. As it were Srcc , LSR or St. Stephens offer pleasant placements. Most colleges offer arrangements between 3 - 4 lacs but over said colleges can give you situations with normal 8 lacs. But, I would prescribe you to not go for placements but higher things because it will increment your information and assist you to advance in your work and do it effectively whereas doing work fair after graduation will not allow you to regard merely continuously needed in the corporate world.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees in Du are very nominal or I could say 7 to 8 times cheaper than private colleges except St.Stephen's college whose fee structure is around 1.2 lacs p.a. but DU offers premier level education at a very nominal fee with a lot of scholarship programs and other concessional benefits.
Campus Life
Life at the campus is pretty good, DU is known more for its exposure in terms of campus life. Every College has societies that students can join and believe me, there's a society for every interest whether its finance, debate, commerce, hult ... the list goes on. But still, We might find some societies are inactive or not that much activity and this is mostly found in off-campus colleges.
