Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College, Purulia firmaly known as Purulia Government Engineering College is fully funded by the Government of West Bengal and is approved by AICTE. College consists of ME, CSE, EE, CE & ECE department.
College Campus: The surroundings campus of this college is very nice. Different types plants are there. (RKMGEC) can boast of the serene and pristine beauty of Mother Nature facilitating the un hazardous learning process of the students.
The effervescent faculty members of the college are ceaselessly engaged for the academic as well as ethical betterment of the students by organizing various learned seminars, cultural programmes, and amiable competitions.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum of this college is very good for students. Various department students are more satisfied with this curriculum. This course curriculum is also based on various competitive exams.

Placement Experience

Placement quality of this college students are good. The students of this Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College, Purulia got good job with good LPA. Now, CSE,ECE, ME, EE, CE students are placed with good job.

Now, students are get hostel facility in 3rd and 4th year only. The first time admission fesss of this hostel is about 15K Rs only for one semester. Then, other each semester fees is approx 13k only.

Admission

The various students are admitted in this college via West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination after securing a good rank. Under 5k rank, the students are got good department. SC, ST, OBC and GEN-EWS reservation are there in this college.

Faculty

Teachers of this college are more friendly for interactions with the students and they are continuously helping the students with their full effort. Though the faculty to student ratio is not enough, the teachers help the students for various subjects. Most of the teachers are all rounder. Most of time, teachers mentor the students for their studies, job readiness and for different types of competitive exam like GATE etc. So, for these RKMGECian students are performing good results and good rank in GATE examination.

Story of hit

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

Placement Experience:

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.

A brief overview of RKMGEC

The main reason students come to this college is because of the fact that fees are affordable and also this is purely government college. Admission process is quite easy you need all the necessary documents (Aadhar, Pan, etc) along with your WBJEE scorecard and rankcard. Other important fact to mention is that only students who are permanent resident of West Bengal can seek for admission. You need a domicile certificate for that....Read More
