Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum has been created keeping in mind, the students's other commitments. It might not always work but there's ample amount of break between the classes for the students to have enough time to relax and revise. Sometimes, the curriculum can be hectic but the good part is even the teachers are ready to shift their schedule at times. The way DU conducts its exams is not much appreciated. The questions are almost the same and students might not learn anything new every time. But the best part is that there are few professors in the department who encourage students to go beyond DU's syllabus and learn more.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Several companies from all across India conduct webinars and seminars to give the students an insight into what they're looking for. They offer internships in collaboration with the college for the students to excel in the placements.

Placement Experience

4

There are several departments which offer really good placements after your graduation. Like the economics/or BCom honours dept. Other than that you've maintained a good cgpa throughout the year you might want to apply abroad for your further studies. The professors are really helpful in giving you the LOR and any help needed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of the college is very affordable. Plenty of scholarships are available for EWS students or ST/Sc/OBC students too. Several awards are given to exceptional students. The college offers a lot of opportunities to brush up on your leadership skills. Elections are held every year, there are several society's which conduct their elections and events.

Campus Life

5

I had the best time of my life while graduating from maitreyi. I joined the music society performed in various other colleges throughout the delhi and out of Delhi. Won several prizes. Also, I served as the vice president of my society in the final year. And it has helped me find a good place in several companies for internships and jobs who test the leadership skills. So the atmosphere is really healthy, there are opportunities, Events, fun and everything you need.

Hostel Facilities

4

The registration if distance and marks based. For example you're from southern part of of India, the college will give you first preference over any other north Indian. The food's good. There's securing, peacocks around....

Admission

I had a merit based admission back in 2020. I'd scored 92.8% (humanities background) and luckily I got into maitreyi in the 1st cut off list based on my 12th percentage. But now the admission is fully entrance based and the competition is high so much preparation is needed now a days because cut offs are high.

Faculty

4

The professors teaching at maitreyi definitely know what they're doing. The history department for example as the best professors. They're adept in their respective fields. Give us monthly tours to understand our subject more. Openly have healthy conversations which involves everyone. Departments in maitreyi organise several events every now and then to make sure every girl participates. There's a respective group called 'Mentor-mente' of every department to solve doubts of the students

Interview Experience

4

No I didn't face any group discussion or interview as such. But now that the rules have been changed, students might face interviews and I guarantee that it would be fun. Several departments might conduct interviews or group discussions but it solely depends from college to college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose political science because i want to go for government exams and political science is an important subject for clearing government exams As per my info, my curriculum is very close to syllabus for exams like UPSC and SSC For improving teaching methods, projectors should be installed and implemented as it helps us to understand and see it more better The frequency of exam is twice a year as semester exam, and exam is not very tough nor too easy, it is medium level that anyone can score good marks if studied well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Regarding course curriculum, I am not satisfied the additional courses like SAC, VAC, AEC have no purpose, they are just a headache which makes it difficult for students to focus on the main subjects, although I am in favour of GE subjects. The marking scheme of 90 marks written paper and 70 marks for internal is also great. Apart from this talking about political science honours curriculum, I will say it is pretty great, there are difficult concepts and bulky material to study from but it could be improved by reducing the weight/ pressure put up by other subjects- sec,vac...

Companies visit are often at our college like Deloitte, wipro , Infosys , KPMG etc but options are wide only for commerce background students they are limited for arts faculty students like me. Highest package is about 6 to 7 lpa while most of the package ranges between 4 to 6 lpa percentage of students getting are average and they are mostly from comm letce and economic or business background. I would go for journalism and choose IIMC for my master's.
