Likes

The faculty members are very knowledgeable and helpful
The environment within the college is very healthy
Sound technical infrastructure of the campus bulidings

Dislikes

Lack of availability of lifts acts as quite a problem for many students
Huge number of assignments that the students need to complete and those carry internal marks so can't be skipped
Classrooms get quite hot during summers as they don't have air conditioners in B.tech department

Course Curriculum Overview

IEM provides a wide range of curriculum options to it's students. It has different periodic workshops held in order to make the students ready for real life engineering tasks and well as other challenges. IEM has integrated different ways of teaching like smart board, interactive sessions off campus, etc. IEM hosts total of 3 theory exams per semester and 1 entire practical exam session. The 3 theory exams include 2 mid semester or internal exams and one main end semester exam. All these exams have quite good standard questions, and they take place within about 1.5 to 2 months time apart from each other.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not sure about the fees increase policy and neither have idea about the regularity rate and even what it means. The complete cost of education for B.tech degree at IEM is about 710000 rupees which includes all charges. There are two known scholarships that the college encourages it's students to avail which are SVMCM which gives a sum of 60000 rupees per year, and national scholarship scheme which I'm not sure about the amount.

Campus Life

IEM hosts a huge number of technical events starting from INNOVACION which is typically held in the month of February or March, apart from it different conferences are arranged all year round, such as ICELTS, IEMSC, etc. Apart from those, their are different technical workshops that are also held all year round. The library collection is relatively small compared to some other private engineering colleges but whatever they have can fulfill your aim of visiting the library without any doubt. Technological infrastructure is also quite sound in the IEM campus buildings. IEM lacks sports activities, students can use the fields and courts to play amongst themselves but there is no fixed college schedule for it.

Admission

IEM follows strict eligibility for admission of new students, it demands one of the highest scores among private engineering colleges in Kolkata, from both JEE Mains as well as WBJEE exams so cater out meritorious students. It has quite a strict cut off. The application form can be availed both online and offline, offline at AASHRAM CAMPUS and online at IEM's website. The forms start getting available from MAY according to what I know. The college arranges two mid semester, or internal examinations with quite good standard of the question paper, typically these two exams have a gap of about 1 to 2 months in between them, apart from that, practical exams and end semester exams are also their.

Should I Choose IEM.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility for placement is from 3rd year,with tier 1 companies visiting like Google, Amazon along with mass requiters like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro etc.Last year heights placement package was 72LPA offered to 15 students and average was 2-3 LPA.

Okay college and decent placement

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is same as all low 3 tier colleges which is nearly 4-5 lpa average salary given by mass recuitor companies .The companies are infosys , ltimindtree , accenture , ibm , capgemini , cognigent , etc .The placement rate is nearly 60 to 70 percent.

Heritage Institute of Technology: A Detailed Observation

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

So I take admission through WBJEE in IEM KOLKATA in B.tech in electrical engineering. So now I talked about eligibility criteria:- You should pass your +2 from any board with a maximum of 60% Admission in this college is 3 types WBJEE, JEE MAIN, IEMJEE all three forms you will get notified by college dunia if you have an account in it. So the IEM KOLKATA is one of the best private colleges in Kolkata and you can say in India also so the cuttoff goes very high you have to get minimum rank for this college. Review of My IEM University

When I was searching for the best college to get the admission, some people told me to try for Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) and after I got admitted to this college, I really understood that I selected the right college. I will always prefer this college because discipline is strictly obeyed in IEM and all the teachers are like parents. In 2019, admission was going on offline and it was held around the month of July. This year, due to covid pandemic, the admission process was held around the month of October and from 2nd November, online education started for the first year batch. According to me, the one and only bad aspect is that every semester, Rs. 65,000 is to be paid by each and every student to continue with their education which is quite high according to me.
