Course Curriculum Overview

The first two semesters can prove to be hard due to time issues. other than that the syllabus is followed by waht is issued by KTU university which the college is under. The syllabus can get get a bit tough some times.

The college provides amble oppurtinities to get internship . A lot of opportunity is available here . It's up to you to take that oppurtinity and do something worthwhile. Several it companies provide internships here.

Placement Experience

The one and only thing thing which stands out in this college is the college placements. The college have been getting very good placements for quite a some time in mostly all the fields. My main reason to join this college was this.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since this is a government managed college the semester fees are a bit higher than the normal government college fees , it has different fee options in both merit and management quota. There financial aids provided for not so well of students.

Campus Life

To be honest i have not been a good fan of the campus life provided in this college . its a relatively small college but the placements are nice. And we do have a very good and well organized tech fest every year.

Hostel Facilities

The college hostel is vibe since boys hostel are always fun. There are issues of mosquitos and hot weather other than that other things are fine. The food is quite good for what you pay, you get non veg too

College Feels Like Home

Placement Experience:

The placement department in our college is great and is always trying to bring good companies to the college. The placement training starts from semester 7. Our top recruiter include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, NocoBD, Delloite, etc. and our mechanical, civil, EEE,ECE all got placements with avg of 4lpa.The highest package where 12 Lpa for SAP. My plans is to get a good job and lead a stable life.

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows

My honest review of ICET

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for attending campus placement from semester 7. Some companies that visits ICET are Utc global, Layland, DeltaX, etc. The average package given by the companies are 3 lpa. The percentage of students getting placed are around 40%. I plan to placed at any company.

I applied to cet, tkm, gec for branches eee and ec My first option was cet for which i couldn't get admission due to my rank. Cet requires rank below 1000. And my second option was mec (my college). MEC Thrikkakkara: Strong Academics and Placements, but Room for Infrastructure Growth

My cousin studied here few years back and is now working a top tech company.I applied for Cs in MSRIT and AMRITA,but the fee structure over there is too high(around 3-4 lakh per year).Here overall fee amount is equivalent the yearly fee.To get admission in MEC,a person needs to write keam exam .Three phases of allotment are held in here.At the beginning of all allotment,we could change our preferences.For CSE BATCH,CUTOFF RANK FOR merit is around 2k and Management around 3.5k .For CSBS it's around 3k for Merit and 7-8k for management....Read More

Good for social life but very minimal infrastructure and facilities

The reason I chose this college over other options were due to the prime location in which it is present and due to the city it is present in . MEC is renowned for the placement opportunities available in this college and is placed in the top 3 colleges in Kerala in terms of placemenets . The admission is based on the student's KEAM rank and this rank decides whether you get the Merit seat or management seat . For others you also have an NRI seat .
