Likes

Class room is big with touchscreen board
Classes ends at 3pm and someday 12 so u could get back to hostel quickly
No ragging and seniors are pretty good they dont cause unnecessary quarreling

Dislikes

Mess food is so bad every have to eat from outside
Telungu,tamil fa's speaking skill are so bad that we dont understand wtha they are speaking
For getting a leave u have to go under lot of procedures

Course Curriculum Overview

Iiit kottayam follows iiit hyderabad syllabus the faculty over here are all PhD scholars with teaching experience the curriculum is tough compared to normal engineering colleges accademic wise getting more than 8 cgpa is hard Exams are same a other colleges 1 mid sem and end sem exams along with quiz,viva,assignments,lab exams etc

Placement Experience

Placements in this college is good last year a senior got placed for 54 lakh this year I think the same happened and compared to last time the percentage of students getting placed decreased I guess overall one could find good job after coming to this college after all it is a college of national importance

Fees and Financial Aid

There is total of 8 sems with 1,74,750rs one should pay each semester this include tuition ,hostel ,travel etc.studens can get education loan for low interest rate 9% ig from this college.you can get scholarships too if you apply for one(i didn't apply for any so i dont know).in my knowledge there is no campus employment available

Campus Life

Campus life is average.the name of the tech fest is apoorv and it last for 3 days witch was good but still not as good as nit calicut or gov colleges. There are lot of tech clubs one can join but that too is avg not the best out there.library has all syllabus related books so u can have the resource to study(u can also get pdfs sent by faculty so normally students dont go to lib quite often).there is one football ground,one volleyball court,have 1 tt table in each hostel

For first year students hostel vary for me I got good hostel with attached bathroom, for first sem I had 3 roommates,for 2nd I have 2 so hostel was pretty good for me.mess food is so bad u can only eat proper food for like 3 day(dinner) I a week the mess committee is so shut there is fight over there for like every day most of us eat food from outside

Hostel Fee: INR 26000 per year

Admission

Exam = jee mains You can get into this college but getting min 95 percentile in jee mains(obc) for getting Should score more than 75% in cbse board exam For cse min 96 For ece min 95(csab) For gen category student should score more than this For sc,st 85+ should be enough to get ece branch There is no pwd category benefits also no women's quota

Positive remarks is the college is autonomous because we are directly under the Cochin University of Science and Technology. So the CUSAT name plays a big role in whole Kerala. The certificate has a big value. In case of negative remarks, some works are not doing properly, like small maintenance work and all.

IIITK hostel nightmares

The college has a very attractive campus and it is very new so the facilities are also relatively new. no placements but good to explore your interests

The only reason I choosed this college is because of it placements but now they are worst for my batch almost 70 percent people are unplaced. and i choosed this college because i wanted cse and either i could get lower branches in top colleges or top branchs in low colleges. so i preffered choosing cse. i applied for NIT Suratkal, NIT Warangal mechanical BUt i felt CSE Would be much better so i end up landing here. the other reason why i preferad my college is because of its beautiful campus. yes i got rejected from nit surathkal cse because my jee rank was low...Read More
