Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose Electronics enginnering(VLSI Design and Technology) because chip designing and all is growing faster in India and there is so much scope in it in the near future. We have labs in the college to get idea about the courses and its applications. The course is pretty good but as it is new it needs lot of improvement. According to me the exam difficulty is moderate.

Placement Experience

3.5

As much as I know during fourth year campus placement starts. The companies that visits our campus are Cognizant, Deloitte, TCS and some startups as well. The average package is 3-4 lakhs and highest package of this year is 8.5 lakhs My plan after getting degree is to get placed in a good company or I may go for masters in VLSI.

Fees and Financial Aid

So the total fees for BTech is 2,24,000 and the hostel fees is 9000 per semester and there are some minor fees like registration fee, examination fee etc. So the west bengal students has lot of scholarship opportunities and the college will help them in getting it. The campus held lot of competition like hackathon, coding competition etc. which offers money and lot of prizes.

Campus Life

4

There are few clubs in my college like volleyball, Badminton, anime, GDSC, Chess, Music etc.The name of the fest is Anweshan which held every year in the month of november. The member of Anweshan invites some guests to perform and the students can participate in different competition as well. When it comes to Library it is pretty big and books available there are very much sufficient for the students. The classroom is good it has projector also. The college conducts annual Athletic Meet every year which includes different type of sports and the different club conducts competition of their own sport. So all the clubs are managed andead by the college students and it actually impact their life in a good way.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel is too good. You will get washing machine to wash clothes everyday except Thursday. For water there is a filter on each floor. In one room, there will be 3 people living in it but the thing is rooms are too big in hostel and it's pretty fine for three people. Also each person gets one study table, chair and cupboard. The meal quality is good but if you are from other state you may not like it. The menu is different for each day. So after taking admission in college you can go for hostel admission first you can go to adminstrative office then after that you can directly contact the warden. Also you can visit the hostel before taking admission in it so that you can get an idea about the facilities and the environment. There are lot of PG and rooms are available near college. But I would highly recommend to take hostel because it is pretty cheap and safer to live.

Admission

First of all the candidate needs to be appear for Wbjee exam whichis held every year in the month of April or may. All the necessary information related to the examination is available on the wbjee official website wbjeeb.nic.in Only west bengal students get some reservation benifits. The examination is held in two slots and each slot will be of 100 marks. In the first slot there will be math paper which is of 100 marks and the level of question paper will me mostly as jee mains paper. When it comes to the second slot there will be physics and chemistry each of 50 marks and their level is decent. According to me chemistry questions come very easy so student can try to score more in this paper. When it comes to admission please go through the whole process carefully as it is very much important to know all the details. Also do proper research about the colleges and the courses it is offering before taking admission.

Placement Experience:

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months
