Remarks

1. Very much discipline which is good for our education, as well as for this discipline we forgot that we are in a University. 2. Very Strict. 3. Very Punctual about everything. 4. Good Education 5. Faculty members are very friendly and caring.

Entrance Preview

In my personal opinion, UEM has the best course curriculum for the B. Tech students. In every semester they introduce new subjects related to the GATE exam, CAT exam, UPSC and other PSU exams. This is a very good opportunity for the students who have an aim to go for the government jobs, and the added advantage for the students who want to go for the private jobs.

Internships Opportunities

College does not provide any internships. We have to do the internship on our own. But definitely, University provides the NOC (Non-Objection Certificate). University encourages every time to go for the internships and work on your own projects.

Placement Experience

5

As we are the first batch of this University we are hoping for the best. We have a strong placement cell in our University who gave their more than 100% to prepare us to sit and crack the campus placement. A lot of Placement Training sessions are going on in our University like Aptitude Development, Programming Language Classes, Soft Skills, Group Discussions and Verbal sessions by professional professors. Moreover, we are in a part of the IEM group, as per IEM placement records for the last 10 years there were 100% placements. So we hope for the best.

College Events

3.5

There are lots of cultural or technical events held at our University. 1. Freshers Party named as PARICHAY (in the month of September of every year) 2. Cultural Fest (In the month of Jan or Feb) 3. Technical Fest (In the month of Jan or Feb) 4. Entrepreneurship Cell Competitions (Middle of every semester) 5. International Conferences (like OPTRONIX'17, SPRINGER, OSA) 6. Bio-technological Conference. 7. Industry-Student interactive sessions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For the four-year B.Tech course each and every semester, the tuition fee is approx 60 thousand rupees. Though it is expensive for many of the institutes in West Bengal, on the other hand, our university provides the co-curriculum facilities which have not provided by the other colleges like Placement Training Classes, Government Job Preparations etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

University of Engineering & Management provides their students scholarship on the basis of their merit in the Secondary Education as well as Higher Secondary Education. If a student got 85% up marks in any of the exams he or she is eligible to get a minimum amount of scholarship.

Campus Life

4

I think this is one of the most important parts of University - the Extracurricular activities. There are lots of events happening throughout the year in our campus like E-Cell activities, Rotaract Club activities, Robotics Club events, DST camp activities, Technical and Economical Debates etc. Talking about gender ratio I think that is 5:1.

Hostel Facilities

5

Talking about the hostel accommodation, University charged 84000 rupees for the one-year hostel accommodation (both stay and food) which is little bit of expensive compared to the other PG's in Kolkata. So I suggest you to stay in other PG's outside the University hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

Though I am the senior most student of the University, so as a senior we have a good connection with our juniors. Every time we try to help them with all of the possible directions.

Exam Structure

There are three exams in every semester, first two are mid-term or short-term exams. And the final one is the semester exam which is generally held in the end one May and November every year. In the 4 years B.Tech course there are eight semesters, in 3 years BBA, BCA course there are six semesters. Talking about the Labs, there are ever possible labs in our University for each and every subject.

Admission

I took admission on the basis of WBJEE rank. I sat in the counseling process of the WBJEE and after that, I took a admission in UEM. But the very next year University took their own entrance exam named as IEMJEE and it continues till now. This is the only mode of entrance exam to get a chance to study in UEM. If anyone crosses the cutoff of IEMJEE (varies every year) he or she get a chance to sit in the admission procedure.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else
