Curriculum was comprehensive. The faculty were supportive as well as experts in their respective Fields. The support provided by faculties during field work was helpful. They conduct weekly individual conferences as well as group conferences.
The exposure offered was good enough. I could be a trainee of social work in various institutions like Asha Jyoti, iProbono etc which helped me to take up various social worker role. It also enabled me to practice social work principles in real life.
The library facilities were helpfull to go through more articles and books related to diverse topics. The books helped to make good projects and seminar papers. The availability of books were resourceful for the semester wise examinations and interna

Dislikes

The hectic nature of the course with less leisure time.The field work practicum during Wednesdays and thursdays made the students very tired. The travelling to far away places for field work was a bit risk. Students found difficulty to manage both.
The placements were restricted to north India which required regional language fluency. The students from south found it as an issue for getting good jobs.
The campus had limited infrastructure compared to other departments

The placements offered by the Department was the key highlight. The field work practicum would enable you to familiarize real time working scenarios. The areas of improvement are to be made regarding the time allotted for the completion of assignments. The placement prospects are to be made available to South India as well.

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 14000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee per year was 14000 for a student .For two years it would cost 28000. A student opting for the department hostel will have to pay hostel plus mess charges. An obc ncl candidate can apply for fee pay off. The field work practicum at the university had enabled me to take up the roles of a social worker like a mediator, negotiater, skill developer, empathetic listener, analyser etc

Campus Life

The department of Social work conducts annual day programs yearly. Apart from that the number of fests conducted are comparitively less. The library facilities are worth mentioning as they have many books related tp social work. Bageecha group is one of the prominent club in the campus

Admission

The eligibility for pursuing MA Social work was any graduation degree with more than 55 %. The application and other aspects can be found in the official website of University of Delhi.I have received a fee pay off being an obc student for the 2nd year of college. The entrance exam is of moderate difficulty. Now, the entrance is being conducted by NTA under CUCET. The admission processes wer handled smoothly

Love for Wisdom

Course Curriculum Overview:

For the course i must say that this is something everyone needs to study about even if it's for just a part. We have ethics, moral, cultural relativism and etc. In our syllabus and it all really help to make our thinking rational, to see World from that point of view from where one can see the clarity. It's really necessary for improvement in personality and making good decision. I think there's need for making this course more practical like teaching, we can teach students about essentials of philosophy for there betterment of decision making from an early age.

I applied all the colleges of the DU but I chose Dyal Singh College for my graduation cuz it has best rating at that time and everyone was appreciating the facilities. No I didn't get rejection from any college. I want to enroll in DSC only. You just have to wait for the cutoff. ECONOMICS AT LAKSHMIBAI COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OF DELHI
