What Students Say

Likes

The overall infrastructure facilities in this campus and night life.
Wifi connection absolutely free for everyone.
Well equipped library and auditoriums in the campus.

Dislikes

Climate is too hot... Some people can't survive here during summer.
Transportation to department are quite difficult, no vehicle currently running by University
Mess food is not for everyone cup of tea. I skip breakfast in somedays because its not edible for some regional people because of its taste the follow.

Course Curriculum Overview

Yes, This course structure is very relevant and very much useful for higher studies. Our batch was during the covid time and the total structure was collapsed, but they managed and currently flow through proper way in post graduation.

Class Size: 20Course Fees: INR 25000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

This department of economics is a good department in this university. Its one of the old department from the beginning of 2011 onwards. Fee structure is quite a bit higher when come to PG. Campus placements are limited and very few nowadays.

Campus Life

Campus life is a bit difficult for the people who came from cold climate. Its one of the hottest place in Karnataka. Sports and extra curricular activities are there with proper participation of departments.many clubs and activities are there and a proper building for library.

Hostel Facilities

Accommodation fee below 1000 in the university per month. May be higher in future and one drawback is you can't opt out mess food. Hostel facility like drinking water and wifi connection are there and working fine. In summer may face water scarcity.

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Admission

I had admitted in UG as BA Economics at that time I wrote CUET exam with a cut off of 40. I had admitted to PG with same exam which is in 2022. Our program is integrated course during that time and I got automatically admitted to PG.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester where you have to do an internship project for the semester based Most of the companies that visit are from the news organisations like Bangalore Times, The Hindu, Mint, Times of India, Deccan Herald and other companies like ITC also visit frequently. I am not quite sure about the packages offered.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose economics because it is very much relevant to the present generation as well as the previous. As economics needs analytics skills it prepares for current world. Exams were every 3-4 months frequently and it is not difficult to pass.

My college life in Jyoti Nivas College

Placement Experience:

By the end of the 2nd semester, we are constantly notified about any vacancies in any department. The college placement cell sends us notifications through our class monitors or sometimes throyoutlr HOD. Even after the end of our final semester exam, we are added in a group that is specially meant for job opportunities and placements, where they constantly update and notify us. Out of 32 students in our class, a total of 12 students got placement. As for me, my plan is to do PhD in the said field.

My Campus story

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is relevant for us which helps us to attempt competitive exams. Actually the curriculum changes our mindset and it helps to face the real society. I don't think that improvements needes in curriculum. We get one & half hour for internal tests and 3 hours for sem exams and it is enough foe us to cover whole question paper.

I applied for a few Central University based on my entrance marks. But i couldn't able to make into other colleges due to shortage of marks.
