Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum (especially for B.ed) is not up to date, the faculties follow the same old pattern of teaching and outdated concepts, despite being aware of the new and updated facts. Due to this type of outdated curriculum, the real world use of this course from this institution becomes less.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities varies with department. Some departments dont even provide internship. Our department provided us internshipnas a part of curriculum, where we went to a private schools to teach for 3 months
Placement Experience
For our course, the campus did provided placement, where some of the private schools and institutions came for recruitment. However, after completion of course, one can go and apply jobs in other teaching sectors too.
Fees and Financial Aid
The first admission fee was Rs.10,700 which included a refundable caution money of Rs3000, this fee includes tution fee, registration fee etc. Subsequently the fees for 2nd sem was Rs5700 For 3rd sem, it was Rs9000 And for 4th sem, it was Rs5700 The mess fees were collected on average of 100rs per day... And the hostel accommodation fee was rs900 per month For reserved category students like SC & ST, the hostel accommodation fee was exempted. The university didn't provided any scholarship.
Campus Life
The campus life was vibrant. We enjoyed the company of students across different different states and cultures, celebreated each other's festival. The university also organised annual sports meet and annual fest, where students involved in various cultural and sports activities.
Hostel Facilities
The university provides hostel, but the number of rooms is less as compared to students. The hostel have basic facilities like drinking water, hot water for shower, wifi etc. However sometimes, old class rooms are being converted to hostelsin order to accommodate students. However the students who are taking admission into the university are automatically being enrolled into hostel, and there is no separate enrollment process for hostels, which is a good thing. The food quality is below average, most of the time, high spicy and oily food were being served.
Admission
I applied for a few Central University based on my entrance marks. But i couldn't able to make into other colleges due to shortage of marks. When i got selected into this university, the first thing that attracted me was, the varied section of students which gives a platform to explore about various cultures. Central University of Karnataka follows a simple admission process The department head will conduct a video call over zoom/google meet. where shortlisted student will join, the faculties will have a quick interaction and ask the students to pay the fees, after the call, they will send one link to WhatsApp, clicking on which student can pay fees and confirm their admission.
Faculty
There was plenty of faculties and faculty to student ratio is good.how ever the faculties are less co-operative and they set us free so that, we should understand the concept by ourselves. The university follows semester pattern,(yearly twice) and the exam question paper is prepared by the university itself. The level of questions is moderate to hard depending upon the subjects.
Night Life
The university resides on a small mountain, so the scenic view of evening was surreal. There are some peak points in university, from where students can enjoy the sunset and view of nearby villages, Evenings used to be breezy and cool throughout the year, and students hang out by sitting in the ground side and in the terrace of department and enjoy the cool breeze.
