Course Curriculum Overview
Our college follows UGC defined guidelines strictly when it comes to defining of syllabus and course curriculum. For all the UG and PG programs the University has chosen a semester wise pattern of examination to conduct examination twice a year on a gap of 6 months.
Placement Experience
The Karavali Group which our Institute is a part of is known for good placement rate amongst the colleges in Mangalore. Placement rate for our college is good however for my course that is MSW placement has to be sought on one's own as placement opportunities are to be explored in government departments or with some NGOs which generally don't come to the campus for recruitment. Internship is a very important part of the program and for this as well students have to make efforts on their own.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee of our college is little bit on higher side as compared to other institutes however it is still within manageable limits. For the complete course duration the fees stands to be around Rs 22, 000 to 25,000.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
I applied for the scholarship offered by Karnataka state government for students who are from economically weaker section of the society. Similar kind of scholarship schemes are run by the State Government for other categories of student provided that they are original resident of the state. College also offers scholarship to students from reserved category, specially abled students etc. Educational loans are also available for students from various private and public sector banks.
Campus Life
The institute provide for good opportunities for us as a student to indulge in extra curricular activities. Events like fashion meet, workshops, festival celebration, Republic Day and Independence Day celebration etc are organised by the college. In terms of infrastructure our college is robust and sound.
Admission
Admission in our college is based on merit shortlisting. As per the process application of students are shortlisted based on cutoff for all the respective courses and short listed students are granted admission in a given program. I applied for the masters education in this institute because I had obtained a degree in at the bachelor's level from this Institute and I found this college to be good.
Faculty
If I talk about my experiences I can say that teachers are not that much experienced in their respective discipline. Teaching methodology is good however most of the time they are not able to make things simpler and understandable for the students and push for syllabus completion more rather than interactive teaching.
