Course Curriculum Overview

3

Curriculum needs a change, i guess. Although it keeps on changing on the feedback given by students. Some subjects are really great and can be applied on ground. I must say, the field visits are great.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

College provides in and outside campus internship opportunities. You can get in campus internships based on your interests and availability. You can earn a good amount for your other expenses. Outside campus also you can get internships

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements are not as strong if compared to TISS. A few good organizations also come like reliance foundation, pradan and azim premji foundation and FES. Around 90% people get placed every year. My plan after this course is Phd.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

I am on 75% scholarship. I pay around 21000 everu semesterfor both tuition and accommodation . But, i see that scholarships provided are decreasing every year. And there is a sharp hike in fee as well.

Campus Life

3.5

As a student from DU, I would say that campus life is not very active. Students are not involved in fests, protests etc. As for facilities, I feel there are a few unnecessary luxuries. There is an indoor gym, badminton court, cricket field.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel rooms are quite decent. Mess food is really bad. Even after so many complaints, I see no change in the quality of the food. The quantity also is not justified as per the price of the food. But staying in hostel is feasible as the campus is Isolated from city but you can get flat on rent at around 5-6kms radius.

Admission

First round was written exam. It was quite easy. Essay writing was important. Second round was personal interview. The panelists made me very comfortable and the questions asked were also realted to the previous answers. You should hahe clarity on why are you opting for a particular course.

Faculty

4.5

Many faculties are either from JNU or have fone Phd from abroad. Faculty is really supportive be it academic or non academic issues. Their way of delivering lectures is quite different. Overall, my experience with the faculties has been really good.

Interview Experience

5

I wrote the written exam in the first round in which eassy is important. Topics are usually around current issues. Second round was interview. My course is development so the questions revolved around why this course.

University of Mysore - [UOM], Master of Arts [MA] (Ancient Indian History and Archaeology)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, I always wanted to study history and archaeology. They fascinate me. I was preparing for the CUET PG 2023 when I went through the University of Mysore website. Since I was unable to crack the examination, I applied here as a student. We went through an entrance exam and I was able to join here. The subject is interconnected to all other fields from science to social studies. To ace this field, one has to pass with NET exam. On the other hand also to complete a PhD. There is an institution under ASI that trains students in field work. Back to the department, though teachers and staff are helpful, communication is a problem. It is hard to follow up as they will be speaking in state language. I think if they are accepting students from other states, they should also come to a point of common language for communication. The semester exams are not so difficult. Students must study well and understand the concepts. Previous year question papers also help a lot.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My subject is MA. English. The curriculum comprises of complete history of English Literature along with great poets and their writings. The plus point is that it will help the students to learn about the different writing style along with knowledge of how to interpret the subject matter. The exams are conducted 4 Times for 2 years ie. 4 semesters. Along with these they give assignments to write to test your writing and comprehension skill.

Placement Experience:

The companies visit the office in the final year. For Media and Communication Studies program, the companies come mostly for the students of Advertising and Corporate Communication (Specialization 2) rather than Multimedia Journalism (Specialization 1). However, all the students are free to sit for all the companies. Some good brands come up for placements and take students every year. However, the good part is that even if you don't get an opportunity from the campus placement, you will always get an edge because of the university name when you apply to any of the companies. That's especially when you're applying in Karnataka or the Southern region.
