For admission to the M.Sc Economics program, the institute accepts CUET PG scores, while PhD admissions are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the university. Affectionately known as the Placecom amongst the students, this committee is in charge of managing the summer and executive placements of final year students. The Placecom strives to shape a better future for students through regular interaction and feedback about their interests in various sectors on one hand and continuously building relationships with recruiters on the other. Flawlessly coordinating the entire gamut of placements right from summer internships to pre-placement talks and executive placements is the hallmark of Placecom.
The Placement Committee, a student body at IGIDR, working in close coordination with the faculty placement Committee, provides a platform for students seeking recruitments to interact with possible recruiters on the campus. Since its inception in 2004, the placement cell has successfully maintained a 100% placement record.

The architecture of the campus is inspired by the historical Elephanta and Jogeshwari caves and includes office and residential buildings for research and administrative staff, seminar rooms, auditorium, library, computer centre, cafeteria and guest house.
The students and staff of the Institute are provided accommodation on campus. The whole campus is connected through LAN and WiFi, and the institute has an Internet leased line of 150 mbps for Internet connection. The Internet service is free and available 24×7 with backup ISP.
Classroom and Seminar Halls and Auditorium:The institute has four class rooms and two seminar rooms, one conference hall and one auditorium equipped with the facilities like Projector, Document Camera, Wi-Fi, Digital class and Video conferencing system. The seating capacity of the Auditorium is around 500.
Hostel and Guest House:Students are provided hostel accommodation on the campus. The institute also has a guest house with 50 rooms.
Recreation facility:Recreation facilities include Club library, table tennis, badminton court, lawn tennis, jogging track, fully equipped gymnasium, swimming pool and a children’s park within the Institute’s premises.
Computer Centre and Library:The IT facilities at IGIDR Include a state-of-the-art Computer Center and the IGIDR library is one of the leading professional research and reference libraries in the country.
The employees and students are covered under group mediclaim. A visiting doctor is also available on working days for consultation for the benefit of people residing on campus. The Institute also has subsidised canteen facilities for the students and employees.
IGIDR does not have any other study centre. The institute does not offer any distance learning programme.

The institute provides you with a very excellent education with great faculty. Their main focus is on developmental issues. By doing research students get the chance to work with foreign researchers. This is one of the great places for students who are interested in this field.
The syllabus for Economics in this institute is really very good. It started from the basic and still covering all the parts of it during this two years. We never have any boring class as every topic here is very much interesting.
There were lots of learning provided in our course curriculum. If graduation made us understand the economics,in masters I felt the economics getting attached with me. These two years were so quickly passed away in learning and enjoying.
The college provides a lot of training facilities for the students and the students are always pushed to their limits so that they can learn extra things apart from their academic structure. The college have a very good environment.
The M.Phil. programme is a two year programme designed for those who would like to acquire a certain level of analytical and applied skills. The days are generally filled with lots of opportunities and learning. However, exams are a little tiring.
The course of the college is very vast and it covers every corner of the field knowledge of the syllabus. A student will learn a lot in their academic career. A good practical and theoretical knowledge is provided by the college authority.
The curriculum had a supreme importance in our course. It was completed on time every semester. The students were not only tested on behalf of exams but practical?, assignments and presentations was also part of it.

The course is of two years and in the final year one has to specicialize in one of the subjects of economics. The course includes study of micro and macro economics. The students have tests and assignments to keep up their grades.
