Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

MBBS was a dream for me from my school days, so after I got selected in NEET I was very much excited to join the college. Faculty student ratio is quite good in our every department, almost 1:10. Qualification of the faculty - MD, MS. Exams are conducted time to time, no irregularities in that. Difficulty is depending on the preparation by the student, if they study then it's easy to pass with good marks.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

After completing MBBS we had to do one year internship in our college. In that time basically we had to do clinical practice under the guidance of senior doctors in the college hospital. It's a very very important time period for the students as they will able to learn and perform in hand clinical practice

Fees and Financial Aid

College fee is not that much huge in West Bengal compare to other states but other costs including food price grocery etc are hiked. Yes scholarship opportunities are there in our college many students got scholarships from FFE, Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, Oasis etc etc.

Campus Life

3

Life in the campus is very fine. Many cultural and sporting events are conducted time to time. Our annual college fest named Rhapsody was conducted in the month of october. Many medical events for students were conducted in that fest. In library mostly medical books are there, so we are dependent on college street or public library for that. Our social cultural wing name is WAVE. We don't have a big ground in our college but got a cute badminton court.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel Facility - Spacious room (4 students per room), Personal Bed (with pillow, mattress), Table, Chair, Almirah. Mess meal quality is decent, there is no particular menu, we can choose between the items. Registration process for the hostel allotment - We had to submit a application and form to our student section officials mentioning about my Home adress. Then depending upon the home distance from college and availability of rooms, our room was allotted. If I had to rented a room then I will choose localities like college street or central.

Admission

Admission process was smooth enough. I appeared for NEET UG 2020 and get seat in Medical College Kolkata in my counselling, Cutoff for this college is about 660 for general. After allotment I collected the application form in online, from my college site, and filled it and went to student section of my college i.e Medical College Kolkata. Admission date was 10th November, 2020. Admission fee was 6520 Rs. As I said earlier, admission process was very much smoother, So for me that was enough good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is completely based on NMC new guidelines. Along with the theory classes where we know the structure and their working in dissection we actually see them on cadaver . Lectures should be more interesting as it's get boring to literally listen the concepts for first time like a story and at the end we forget everything

Course Curriculum Overview:

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.
