Remarks

Our college is just not a college, it is asia's oldest medical college & hospital. So it is serving people of our country since 1835. It not only serves people it also raises its voice against anything that harms our society.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

We have a vast syllabus which is divided into many parts. In first year we have anatomy, physiology & biochemistry. We do regular Dissection of human cadaver everyday. We do hematology &human physiology practicals thrice in a week. We have also biochem lab tests in practical classes. The course is very interesting but is a little vast. We give item examination every week. We have part examination after completion of each part of syllabus. We have three trimesters in first year. Atlast, we have our 1st professional MBBS examination.

Placement Experience

5

We have 1 year intership after 4. 5 years. Then we get placement in government hospitals.

College Events

3.5

We have freshers for 1st years, college fest as Rapshody, have film fest, have aescalepia etc. Rapshody is the biggest college fest in kolkata. All students from each year participate actively in tge fest. We have had guest performance also.

Campus Life

3.5

We don't have playground in our college due to lack of place. But as a hostelite, i play cricket, badminton, football, carrom, table tennis with my friends in GCR, Maidan and even in front of SSB. Extracurricular activities like we have our annual magazine for literature, painting, photography etc. We take part in protests against vandalism. We have two parties MCDSA & MCTMCP. We have 57 girls and 193 boys in our batch. Most of us are from below poverty line or middle class family.

Hostel Facilities

4

I will rate 5/5 to our hostel infrastructure. But in case of facility, all of us hadn't got the hostel. Our hostel is nothing less than a multiplex.

Alumni/Alumna

Before entering the college, I thought that I will br ragged by seniors. But, when I met them, I realized what is called a senior junior relationship. They are very very helpful. They are like our brothers rather than a senior. We can't think a college without seniors like them.

Admission

I gave NEET in 2019. I ranked 3172 among students from all over India. Then I ranked 94 in state merit list. I took Medical College Kolkata as my first choice in counseling. And I got the college. Then I took participation in Verification process. And I got admitted in the Asia's oldest medical college.

Faculty

4

Our college is asia's oldest medical college. It has a golden heritage since 1835. We have a large team of faculty in every department. We have hods, senior professors, professors, demonstrators, PGTs & others. All of them are highly qualified &very helpful. They teach us each and every aspect of the subject along with the new AETCOM system.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very noble. It gives us the power to heal others. When I was a child, i was impressed by the ability and skills of a doctor. The patient family were treating him like god. So i decided to pursue it because of the amount of respect and wealth we gain. In the real world it helps us to become a good person, interact with the injured society and connect to the people emotionally. Teaching methods could be improved by giving more and more real life examples and exposing to the wards and clinics. Learning is more fun when we do more practicals. The college must ensure that more and more practical classes and clinical exposure is given to the students so that they can learn effeciently. The cases of the cirriculum should be given to the students to look how they handle it.
