Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.

Internships Opportunities

4

We immediately get a chance to intern at our own hospital run by the government where we practise medicine for 1 year around 12 ward postings which cycle every month approx and help us to gain experience in every aspect of medicine from surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, otorhynology, paediatrics, dermatologist, medicine, radiogy, anaesthesia, etc. We have many projects and activites like community research and family adoption programmes! we have research opportunities and many more such aspects to focus upon and guided through and through!

Fees and Financial Aid

Here is the fee structure of our college for MBBS course:- :-There are 9 semesters in Mbbs and for each of them we have to pay a sum of ?4500. :-caution fees is a one time payment of ?1000. :-admission fees is also an one time payment of ?1000 which is non-refundable. :-all who have qualified NEET examination via merit have to pay equal fee irrespective of caste, creed, sex, language. :-there are various scholarships available to students in need like the swami vivekanda scholarship,JBNTS,etc. :-total tuition fees is ?40500 counting all the above mentioned sums.

Campus Life

4.5

Our annual fest is Agon which is said to be the biggest medical fest in Eastern India. It is almost 30 years old and has always kept the spirit alive with 100+ academic and extra-curricular events.Special guests include arijit singh, mohit chauhan, vishal shekhar and many more amazing talents! It is a month long phase of fun and excitement! The main fest lasts for 4 days during end of september and many compare it with Durga Puja! Our library has all medical books necessary and also includes a digital library with access to ipads! Sports include cricket, football, badminton, futsal, table tennis, tug of war, chess, ludo, carrom, etc. We have competitions ranging from dancebattles, streetplays, dramas, mimicry, recitation, creative writing, painting, puzzles, and many more! We have our own drama club Playtlets dance club named Soleus and music club called ChordaeTympani! Our debating and quizzing club is named Broca!

Admission

The eligibility to get into a medical college like ours is clearing the NEET cutoff which is a competitive exam held by NTA. Application details are available in our website cnmc.online. In our time the cutoff was 617 for UR(unreserved category) I don't have details about the reservation.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty in our college are quite adequate as compared to the number of students! Although i might have to mention that medical colleges in west bengal especially kolkata have 250 students per batch which makes it difficult in demonstration and practical classes like cadaver dissection, haematology lab practicals, etc. The faculty are all Post Graduate Doctors who are either specialising in their particular fields like medicine, surgery, etc or are already established physicians and they are excellent mentors who are well educated and experienced doctors!so the teaching experience is very good!we hardly have any breaks and the classes are rarely postponed or suspended! ALSO we are regularly assessed with class tests and part completion tests! Faculty members are very easy to approach and interact with, they always clear our doubts and provide proper advices even help regarding research opportunities!

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very noble. It gives us the power to heal others. When I was a child, i was impressed by the ability and skills of a doctor. The patient family were treating him like god. So i decided to pursue it because of the amount of respect and wealth we gain. In the real world it helps us to become a good person, interact with the injured society and connect to the people emotionally. Teaching methods could be improved by giving more and more real life examples and exposing to the wards and clinics. Learning is more fun when we do more practicals. The college must ensure that more and more practical classes and clinical exposure is given to the students so that they can learn effeciently. The cases of the cirriculum should be given to the students to look how they handle it.

The concept of education is misunderstood my many students. Students want to study in order to make money and become rich so that they can fulfill their wants. Similarly money is invested by parents in terms of the amount of investment it will reap in the future. Because of this reason females are not given much higher education in our country.
