College authority is quite sluggish in taking action in favour of students.

I want to serve the nation with my abilities. 1 faculty per 10 students, because limited subjects are taught by many teachers. Faculty are atleast MD/ MS in their respective subject.3-4 monthly exams are held & University exams need a lot of effort to pass

Internships Opportunities

Internship are done within the college, Medical College and hospital, Kolkata or Kolkata Medical College. 1 year internship teach you a lot of medicine and makes you a complete doctor . You have to treat patients and interact with all of them in a position manner. No worries about finding an internship and they are providing a good amount of stipend during the internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees per semester is Rs 4500 only. And hostel fee 12/month. Eating in the canteen will cost you near 150-200 per day depending on you . Book in an year nearly of 5000-10000 Rs . Coaching or tuition will cost you 20000-30000 per year. Scholarship are available like Oasis, FFE, SVSCM , ONGC etc.

Campus Life

Rhapsody is the name of annual fest. It's around in November - December.All the medical related books can be issued from library. Classroom are of good conditions , AC available and mic and projector system present. Indoor sports are mostly due to unavailability of college's own ground.

Hostel Facilities

1 room is shared by 4 students. Hostel is well maintained. Hygiene and Sanitation are adequate. Meal provided is of good quality affordable. Hostel form is being filled at the starting of course or admission time. Rented room or pg is available nearby.

Hostel Fee: INR 144 per year

Admission

NEET is entrance exam. General cut off was near 640. SC cutoff near 570. OBC cutoff - 620. Online counseling through Wbmcc. Admission process is right . Application form is not necessary as it's government college & admission is through online counseling.

The course is completely based on NMC new guidelines. Along with the theory classes where we know the structure and their working in dissection we actually see them on cadaver . Lectures should be more interesting as it's get boring to literally listen the concepts for first time like a story and at the end we forget everything

Course Curriculum Overview:

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes.
