Course Curriculum Overview
Cource curriculum is very good and faculty members are highly qualified and supportive. But the labs are pretty old as the college is very old. Renovation is being done. faculty-student ratio is like 1:30. 100% of the faculty are PHD degree holders and most of them are from top foreign university. Faculties are very passionate about teaching. Exams Are being conducted from time to time and result is also published timely. And the exams are quite difficult many students get supply in some subject, But if you attend the classes properly there will be no issue.
Internships Opportunities
TATA steel ,PWC ,Texus Instruments etc companies gives on campus internship opportynity through campus HRM cell.and we have a large aluminie network and various types of interesting projects are being done.
Placement Experience
palcement is pritty good the last year students are elegible for campus placement and almost 85% student get paced. TATA STEEL , AMAZON ,TEXUS INSTRUMNTS , JSW,VEDANTA , ACCENTURE , PWC ,MARUTI SUZUKI etc come to campus placement.in the last placement drive AMAZON offered 54LPA to 14 students. the average package is 9.5 LPA.After getting the degree i will sit for campus placement and secure a campus placement and internship opportunity is also provided to the students through HRM cell.And many students go to research and some go to PSU through cracking gate.
Fees and Financial Aid
As any other NIT the fee structure is almost same 1.4 lakh per year.there are various types of privet and government scholarships are available there .And there is a scholarship GAABESU awarded by the alumie of our college.Every year campus placement and internship is given to the elegible students.And also Tuition Fee waiver is available in as per the govt. rule.if your family income is bellow 5 lakh you have to gibe 1/3 of the tuition fees.ona if bellow 1 lakh then full tuiotion fee is waived.
Campus Life
Campus life is very good 9 to 5 class .Lots of greenary are there and various types of clubs are there.the annual cultural fest is REBEKA is celebrated every year.And technical fest INSTRUO is also celebrated .Departmental technical fests are also celebrated .like mechanical engineering departmental fest is IMPETUs.LIbrary is very good .There is a web page BEing Civil run by students where you can get all the study material of your cource.there are two ground LORSD and OVAL ground are there.and also busketball court vollyball court batmintan courts are also available there.
Hostel Facilities
hostels are prity old and 4 people sharing rooms are given ,in last year single rooms are given.total there are 17 hostels are present.and an new 1000 seater single baded hostel is under construction.meal quality is decent.free wifi is available and indoor games,common televission etc.you will be alloted hostel as per the distance of your home.and you can also take pg uotside the college gate.But in kolkata pg are very much expensive.So i will suggest to stay in hostel.yes hostels are old but idnt think you will face any issue.
Admission
The admission process is done based on JEE mains rank. There are 9 departments for B.Tech.Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mining Engineering. SC, ST, and OBC-NCL reservations are available. Admission is done through JOSAA counselling.
