Likes

The teaching of teachers in the classroom.
The big and beautiful campus .Also the campus is full of trees which is very important for mental growth.

Dislikes

The building of the college and the hostels are very old .
The rooms are not innovated and not sufficient for 4 students to live together.

I choose the college as the average packege of my department is high (1200000).And the campus of our college is very large and beautiful.The college offers a lot of opportunity to enhance my extracurricular activities.

Internships Opportunities

Associate engineer ,Program analysist , Software engineer intern. companies which offer internship include Google, Microsoft, TCS,PWC,Worley etc. Students who have projects in their second and third year get internship.After internship who perform well in the internship get ppo offers .

Placement Experience

From the 7 th semester the students become eligible for placement . Microsoft , TCS, IBM, PWC , Google , Vedanta, Cognizant , Wipro, Oracle, Samsung are the companies which visit our college for placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

I belong to a family with annual income 48000.So I have to pay my tuition fee of Rs 5500 in every semester .There are many scholarships which students get as a financial support.I get Swami Vivekananda Scholarship.

Campus Life

REBECA is a great annual fest of IIEST ,Shibpur . In the library there are available books relevant to all branches of engineering.There are several social club to explore our talent in different field.

Hostel Facilities

In a room of the hostels of the college 4 students live together . In a day meals are provided for 3 times.On the day of physical reporting after completion of admission process I registered for hostel.

Hostel Fee: INR 60000 per year

Admission

To take admission in IIEST,Shibpur one have to get a good rank in JEE Main examination .After the publication of JEE Main examination result I participated in the JOSAA counselling and in the 6th round of JOSAA counselling I got Information Technology branch in the college.

IIT KGP is amazing!!

Placement Experience:

Students are prepared for placements right from the third semester. Indusrrial training is provided to us and engineering industries like L&T, Bhel, IRS and HAL among others which are in full swing are among the colleges that hires IIT KGP students with an average package of no less than 15-18 lakhs yearly.

IIT Kharagpur : A very well executed institution which helps the students grow and excel in life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well developed and the major areas of learning are adequately addressed. It has prepared students for practice as well as for further education. I wanted to point at such aspects of teaching design that need to be developed : offerings of practical projects and a greater focus on interactive teaching methods. Exams are scheduledd but may prove to need extra assistane for comprehension of some of the contents.

The students get eligible at 3rd year 6th sem. Though before that you can do internship or freelancing which will increase the weight of your profile. The course curriculum is not that different from other colleges. At the beginning or 1 st semester we are made to complete the bridge course which basically includes stuff we read in classes 11 and 12. But then also they can't teach properly the already read topics.

IIEST- Review

The other colleges I applied to were KIIT and SRM. Both of them are Private colleges and have more fees. IIEST is centrally funded, the course curriculum is also better and fee is also less. Also, Placements are better. The admission procedure was easy I got admission through CSAB round as after the JOSAA rounds I got IIIT Kancheepuram, but it did not have good NIRF and it was just a new college. Comprehensive Review on IIEST SHIBPUR

I applied to many other colleges like IISC and all. As I am interested in research that's why I was research driven from the beginning. Due to my failure in JEE advanced I could not get IISC. Through JOSAA counselling I got electrical engineering in first round. The course of electrical engineering closely matches my interests. I got both NIT Durgapur as well as to Shibpur but considering my closeness to my hometown I choose IIEST SHIBPUR over NIT Durgapur. THE ADMISSION IN B.TECH COURSES IS THROUGH JEE MAINS. Rank of around 35 to 40000 is good enough to get you any branch at IIEST Shibpur. But for noncore branches like cs and it you must target a rank of around 10000. Take any branch you got through Jossa counselling and study hard in the first year so that you can change your branch in the 2nd year....Read More
