If social life is not a decisive factor for you, IEM is worth considering, given its disciplined environment and favorable placement opportunities in comparison to other private colleges in Kolkata.

Dislikes

I've already expressed dissatisfaction with the faculty, and another significant issue is the infrastructure. Paying 85,000 per semester without having air-conditioned classrooms is quite disappointing.
The abundance of project assignments and strict attendance mandates creates a stressful atmosphere, which is a significant downside.

Course Curriculum Overview

In the academic environment at IEM, there is a significant emphasis on maintaining attendance, resembling the disciplined routine of school. The faculty is largely composed of individuals with strong academic qualifications, with 80% of them originating from Jadavpur University. However, to be candid, I find the faculty lacking in friendliness towards students and more inclined towards ensuring syllabus coverage, often resulting in a substantial workload of assignments and projects. The student-faculty ratio is 100:10. The examination structure includes two mid-term assessments, each accounting for 30 marks in every subject, conducted prior to the final semester exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

For individuals hailing from middle-class families, IEM might pose financial challenges, with a tuition fee of 85,000 per semester and additional expenses accumulating to a total of 90,000. This amount appears steep, particularly for private colleges in Kolkata, which, in my personal opinion, seem to lack substantial infrastructure despite claiming the status of campuses. To alleviate the financial burden, students can explore scholarship options or opt for education loans. West Bengal candidates may receive fee relaxation if awarded a tuition fee waiver seat. It's worth noting that internship opportunities are not readily provided, necessitating students to seek and secure them independently.

Campus Life

Considering the significance of social life in college experiences, I strongly advise against considering this institution. The social environment is notably subpar, reminiscent of a school setting. During my initial month, I experienced a sense of suffocation. Strict regulations dictate entry before 9 am and prohibit leaving before 4:10 pm, creating a challenging atmosphere. Maintaining a mandatory 75% attendance is crucial, as failure to meet this requirement results in being barred from mid-term exams. The sporting facilities are limited, with only one basketball court available. Matters exacerbate when students are mandated to engage in yoga during designated sports periods. If social life is a significant factor for you, IEM may not be the ideal choice, my friend.

Admission

I enrolled through WBJEE counseling, where applications were accessible in December, and the examination is scheduled for March-April. The online application process is followed by an offline exam held exclusively in Kolkata, with a registration fee of 500. Admission avenues include WBJEE counseling, JEE mains counseling, or IEM JEE. WBJEE counseling provides reservation benefits for West Bengal candidates, and this year, UEM campus offers Computer Science in Information Technology (CSIT) and another branch of Computer Science I am not able to recall right now.

Should I Choose IEM.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility for placement is from 3rd year,with tier 1 companies visiting like Google, Amazon along with mass requiters like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro etc.Last year heights placement package was 72LPA offered to 15 students and average was 2-3 LPA.

Okay college and decent placement

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is same as all low 3 tier colleges which is nearly 4-5 lpa average salary given by mass recuitor companies .The companies are infosys , ltimindtree , accenture , ibm , capgemini , cognigent , etc .The placement rate is nearly 60 to 70 percent.

Heritage Institute of Technology: A Detailed Observation

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

So I take admission through WBJEE in IEM KOLKATA in B.tech in electrical engineering. So now I talked about eligibility criteria:- You should pass your +2 from any board with a maximum of 60% Admission in this college is 3 types WBJEE, JEE MAIN, IEMJEE all three forms you will get notified by college dunia if you have an account in it. So the IEM KOLKATA is one of the best private colleges in Kolkata and you can say in India also so the cuttoff goes very high you have to get minimum rank for this college. Review of My IEM University

When I was searching for the best college to get the admission, some people told me to try for Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) and after I got admitted to this college, I really understood that I selected the right college. I will always prefer this college because discipline is strictly obeyed in IEM and all the teachers are like parents. In 2019, admission was going on offline and it was held around the month of July. This year, due to covid pandemic, the admission process was held around the month of October and from 2nd November, online education started for the first year batch. According to me, the one and only bad aspect is that every semester, Rs. 65,000 is to be paid by each and every student to continue with their education which is quite high according to me.
