Course Curriculum Overview
1) I chose English (Hons.) because I love Literature and always wanted to pursue it for higher studies. 2) Student-teacher ratio is about 60:1 3) The faculty was amazing. They were all extremely qualified and their teaching method was amazing. They made each lecture very interesting and were always available to clear doubts. They also helped us with our assignments. 4) The exams were always held on time. The schedule of exams was given at the beginning of each semester. The questions were moderate to difficult and if one attended classes regularly and paid attention to what was being taught, it was not difficult to pass.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees remained more or less same in each semester. The cost of studying was moderate. Those who were not financially well of could apply for assistance after showing income certificate. There was no campussing for English Literature students though there were workshops organised for career consultation.
Campus Life
1) There were fests and cultural programmes conducted throughout the year. The annual fest was conducted by XADAM and it was quite popular. Famous artists often visited the College to perform in programs conducted in December. 2) The library is well stocked with books and journals and the librarians are extremely efficient. 3) All classrooms had projectors and those pursuing multimedia courses had some extra equipments installed in their classrooms about which I dont know much. 4) Extra-curricular activities are a must in St.Xaviers since we get credits for them. A specific number of credits need to be collected in each year. They are represented in final marksheet. Social work is mandatory. 5) XADAM, NSS, ENGLISH ACADEMY.
