The placements is quite good so i like the placements.
I like the hostel facilities provided by the college
There are a lot of good clubs and societies which i like.

Dislikes

The campus is not fully covered and sometimes there are locals in the college
The college is in the inside area which is a little annoying

My course is B. Tech and my branch is Computer Science and Engineering. I chose this course because i was interested in engineering since i was a kid The faculty student ratio is around 1:100. The faculties are well qualified and most of the have a phd degree

Internships Opportunities

The college provides ample internship opportunities. We get internship offers in third year and in branches like CSE, ECE and Electrical a lot of students get the internship with a pretty good stipend and thus internship opportunities are quite good here

Placement Experience

Placements in the college are very good and provides a good placement in all branches. In my branch the average CTC is around 27LPA . Even in core branches the placement is above 10LPA.The highest placement in CSE branch is 83 lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is not too high but still the college provides fee remission for economically weaker students. The college has good placement statistics and provides a pretty decent average of around 27 LPA.

Campus Life

The college life is quite good. The sport culture is very rich. There is ample opportunities for sport enthusiasts. There are regular events and functions in the college which keeps the college life away from boredom

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are quite good. We get a two seater hostel in first year and from second year onwards we get single rooms. Hostel provides internet facilities.The hostels are quite spacious.The mess food is decent and hygienic .

Hostel Fee: INR 40000 per year

Admission

I appeared for JEE MAINS. Got admission on the basis of my JEE MAINS rank. The application form and everything else is uploaded on the NTA website and the registration generally begins in December or November.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . You have to score at least 75% in class 12th board to get admission ....Read More

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
