- BIT Mesra is a huge campus which is spread in nearly 100 acres of land.
- We have over 10 types of engineering and 10 other courses and each department has their own fests.
- Students safety is first priority here and therefore our college has almost 100 guards including hostels.
Dislikes
- Placements are still not that great as our college is Birlas group least ranked College.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well, Chemical engineering isnt famous as we just have one section while other courses have multiple sections. So, I feel lesser the students the better it is. So we get major attention and because our labs are of no use to other branches are labs too aren't shared. Hence, chemical engineering here is an innovative engineering.
Placement Experience
At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.
Fees and Financial Aid
BIT Mesra is Ranchi's best college for doing engineering. We have students from many cities and even some countries studying here and therefore fees for everyone is different. For students of Jharkhand the fees is 4 lakhs for engineering and because I am an outsider the fees is 5 lakhs a a year. For NRI students the fees is 10 lakhs a year.
Campus Life
Our campus is the largest in Jharkhand as it is a village of 780 acres. Yes, our campus is spread in 780 acres and then fests are plenty. Vibrations is a major fest but the biggest of them is definitely BITOTSAV. We have proper badminton courts, indoor gyms, 4 cafes and a temple as well inside the campus.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are expensive as when we pay over 2 lakhs a year we expect better facilities. Like the room is good and even mess is good as we have multiple mess. However, we don't have proper washrooms as they are shared and this should be fixed.
Admission
I applied for BITS Pilani as that score which is BIT-SAT is accepted here. I got rejection from there and BITS Goa too but I was eligible for BIT Mesra and that too the chemical engineering branch which was the left over branch. So, I was happy that atleast i got a good college.
Faculty
Our faculties have advised us one thing and that is to be with them on all parameters. Yes their approach and methods are different and also the learning process that they have taught us is entirely different. We have studied periodic table in school but to make sure we remember it all our faculties have taught us the easiest of methods.
Night Life
Ranchi is now developed but our campus is little far from the city. Airport is 13 kms and Railway Station is 14 kms. However, cabs are easily available on time and a rickshaw stand is outside our college.
