The National Institute of Engineering, Mysuru review

I was interested in Computers since my childhood. I gave the exam but I couldn't score much to get admission into computer science course. Luckily there was this another course ComputerScience with AI and machine learning. I found this more interesting as my favourite subject was maths and machine learning needs a lot of maths. The faculty is to student ratio is 1 is to 8. There are 1 teacher for every subject but for some we have two. It sometimes gets a bit confusing between the syllabus for exams or if one teacher teaches another way and the second one teacher another. Qualification of teachers is PHD and Mtech. The internals are very difficult to study for because the time duration between them is very short.

The companies which offer under internships are Infosys, TCS , JP Morgan. Companies offer some paid internships as well with some great roles. Some companies also offer pre-placement offers like Fidelity, JP Morgan.

The placements of this college are good. From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. The highest package offered to a student last year was 53 LPA. The average package is 6 LPA. College offers alot of certification to put on our resume. I'm not sure about the percentage of students getting placements. My plans after getting the degree is startup.

I think fees is okay if we compare it to other colleges considering this college's placement opportunities. I'm not receiving any kind of scholarship as for now, internships are provided in college after 2nd semesters.

There are plenty of clubs which conduct fun and technological events. The library has all the necessary books and a good stock of it for the students to issue. As for sports there are table tennis, carrom , chess, basketball court, volleyball court , a mini cricket ground. Some clubs in our college are GDSC, IEEE, OWASP.

In average, the hostel is NOT GOOD. The bathroom facilities is in repairing status most of the time. The food is also unhygienic. Registration was fine and kinda easy. Wifi has very very poor strength. Even the warden doesn't do anything to solve these problems. The good thing about hostel is the night barrier, if we want to go out we have to go before 9 pm and we can come whenever we want.

We have to qualify an exam 'COMED-K' to get admission in this college for this course. Students can also give Karnataka CET to get admission, but it contains a language kannada which creates a barrier for the other students to take admission via Karnataka CET.
