Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course structure is good. Some of faculty are very good but few you have to manage. As per NEP you will be given optional subjects in the first year itself but mostly they are not optional many of them are made compulsory and most of the time there's no choice.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

One of the IS student got an internship opportunity with VISA as a front end developer with 90k stipend. And some of the mechanical engineering students get internship as product designer. And many other intership opportunities were available for the people.

Placement Experience

4

Usually from 3rd year placement drive starts. Companies like Palo Alto, Jp Morgan, Visa, IBM visit our campus. Placements for core branches are also pretty good. Highest package was 56 lpa last year. Most of the students get placed unless they opt for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was sudden hike in the fees from 50k to 1lakh for the students joining via KCET this year. But college is good and many people in the college wish that north campus would have been in the city itself

Campus Life

4

Fest is held once a year. In the north campus there aren't sufficient number of books. Classrooms are spacy and good. Sports isn't given much importance. Many clubs exist and you can join from the first year itself

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel rooms are 3 sharing. Hostel is bit costly compared to facilities provided. Wifi speed is too low and if works for one day then for next six days of week it doesn't work. Food is okay. It's veg mess no non veg is provided not even egg

Admission

I got seat via KCET. KCET is held once a year . It's engineering entrance exam for colleges in Karnataka. After the exam there will be counseling and usually the cutoff for NIE Mysore CSE and ISE is around 5k to 6k . But due to increase in seats this year by the government number of seats were increased and cutoff went low as 10-11k.

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
