Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose this course because I want to get into Civil Services, moreover, I found the syllabus very interesting. You are taught how to unlearn and then learn. Political Science is quite fun now, our papers are intrinsic and make us think far and beyond. The faculty has a 1:25 faculty-student ratio. The minimum qualification for becoming a lecturer is a master's degree with above 55%. some courses require a Ph.D. qualification. I am yet to take my exams but the schedule was already released in August 2023. till now no significant changes have been made as such.

Placement Experience

3.5

The students become eligible for Placement in the 3rd Year of College. that is Semester 5. We have Accenture, Gartner, HCL, Avendus, and Deloitte to name a few that come for campus placements. The average package is of 10.4LPA. The highest that has gone is 36.5LPA. 95% of students get placements during campus placements. My plan after the degree is to prepare for civil service exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

Delhi University offers financial aid to meritorious and financially weak students, Some names are as follow, VK Rao Endowment grant. The Delhi University and College Karamchari Book grant. Vijendra Sharmila Chopra Memorial Scholarship, His Holiness the Pope scholarship. these are to name a few. The overall cost to study at HIndu and in my course would cost 27,000 Rupees per year. The fee hike was almost a 6,000 rupees due to the NEP introduced in 2020.

Campus Life

4

The name of The annual fest at Hindu is Mecca, it is usually conducted in the month of January/February. The fest includes a 3-day schedule with stalls, dance, music, theatre, food, DJ, and competitions. We have almost 40 societies at Hindu College with at least 20 of them being very active. There is an internship cell. a consultant cell, a women's development cell, 2 dramatics societies, 2 debate societies, 2 dance societies, a Film soc a literature soc, a music society, a social service cell, a SC/ST cell to name a few. We have a 3-floor library with lavish options in books and journals. The classroom has fans, projectors, and a blackboard. We have a college cricket and football team, We also have NCC (NAval wing) operating at the college. There is a mini parliament that works at Hindu run by the students. Overall the social life is very robust and the Infrastructure is extremely good.

Admission

For you to be eligible for BA Political Course honors at DU, You need to have any one language subject and 3 Domain subjects from the CUET subjects list which you can verify from the CUET syllabus site. The application form can be found on the official website cuet.samarth.ac.in. I got in by ST reservation, just make sure while filling in the application form, that you upload a clear picture of your certificate and you will be good to go. The overall admission process was not very hectic and relatively smooth. The experience can be different for different people.

Placement Experience:

placement and internship fares are regularly conducted on campus where various companies which are mostly start-ups visit to recruit students for internships and entry level roles. Students become eligible for internships from the first year itself. placement opportunities are generally available after the completion of the full degree and only final year. Students are eligible to apply for full-time rules. last during our last internship and placement fair over 20 companies visited and recruited almost 150 candidates. There are no separate records distinguishing internship from placement. The highest package reported for economics honours is around 12 lakhs per annum and the average package is approximately five lakhs per annum. As per my future plans,I intend to pursue a masters degree after completing my undergraduate course.

For USME, FMCG and Financial companies are the ones which are put in place. The only reason is that those are the companies where we can add value and placements of both courses of USME happens together and combined if I say around 75% students are placed. My plan though is to join GIPE after my graduation ends this year.

DTU because East campus is more known for USME placements revolve around us. Now core companies of our sectors are the ones that deals with finance, insurance or stocks. So nearly 20-30 companies of that space or sector hires over 100 students of BAE every year.

Many companies come as ever since USME has been installed at the east campus the tie-ups with the brands happened before that. So we were etaught accordingly the war corporate wanted us and that is how this has been done with solid precision and thus our placements have never jolted.

Our college has a very active and effective placement cell. Major companies like Goldman Sachs, Bain among many others come on campus for not just placements but also internships. Average and Median packages are between 8 and 10 lakh per annum, with highest packages going up to 25 lakhs. Many also go for postgraduate education, such as MBA after CAT, or to reputed colleges like the DSE for MA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Too vague to understand, feels extra burden of unnecessary irrelevant topics , extra papers like SEC/VAC simply add to the burden while barely providing with any skills and values as their name suggests . Studying them and preparing for exams add extra stress and unnecessary burden on them , diverting their focus from their core papers , which are already too huge and they study materials or readings simply fail to assist . Areas for improvement would be - proper structured study materials , also proper structured practical subjects / papers for students where they can actually learn or gain knowledge/skills which will be advantageous in their future .
