Hostel Life is really good since we all dont get singel seater ina 2nd year in any clg
There are really good clubs which do great jobs for personal developement
Placement is what everyone in my college has come for.

Dislikes

It has not airport , or an international airport in jamshedpur
There is no swimmming pool as other nit has to offer
There is no gym as other nit , iit has to offer

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is fine and understandable. Some faculty are good while others just come to get their jobs done. Young lecturers are enthusiastic and give tougher questions than elder ones give. There are two semesters in the year, each with a mid sem and end sem exam.

Class Size: 125Course Fees: INR 220000 per year

Placement Experience

Campus placement is what I had aimed for before joining the college since it had a whopping 27 lpa average package being a second tier nit. We have seen 100 percent placements in our college so far.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is quite good when it comes to fees to placements ratio. Fees have actually hiked a bit for infrastructure works. There are certain scholarship plans for students with their parents' income less than 500000. I did not get any of the scholarships since I came in general.

Campus Life

Sports activities do take place but I don't find it as majestic as we can see in other colleges. There are a lot of extracurricular clubs going on Including cultural, sports, and tech clubs. Most of them are under the student council.

Admission

The main eligibility is that you should have cleared jee mains ( if you are Indian) or dasa if nri. The rank should be below 10000 for general candidates. Fees and date updates will be available on the official website. I didn't get reservation. All things go offline. better if it was a bit updated.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
