college being affordable and easygoing in terms of form filling
air conditioning is great in all classrooms
consistent clubs and activities across first years

Dislikes

locality is bad as there are no local shops and sellers
no airport nearby closet one is 120 km far away also only domestic
hostels for first year is bad really bad bathroom conditions

MOST OF THE FACULTY MEMBERS ARE REALLY GOOD GREAT EXPERIENCE AND DOING LOTS OF HARDWORK TILL NOW I ONLY HAD MID SEMD WHICH WERE PRETTY DECENT BUT HARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATION IS EITHER BSC MSC PHD OR BTECH MTECH PHD

there are internships available for third year for boys and second year for girls opportunities are good but less only great ones get the internships easily and top great ones get the pre placements in here

placements are good comparatively with other nits cse average being 250000 and with nearly 97% placement rate from the ones who are eligible of sitting in placements my plans are too go foreign for masters highest package is 85 lpa average cse 25 lpa average over all 13 lpa

Fees and Financial Aid

FEES IS BARE MINIMUM TO RUN THE COLLEGE REALLY CHEAP IN COMPARION 62500 tuition fees and 59500 for institute and hostel fee didn't get any scholarship as a dasa student but josaa and csab ones have fee remission

Campus Life

THE ANNUAL FEST IS CULFEST conducted in february sports is urja conducted in november ojass lds soft skills invicta all are clubs there are a lot of books on nearly every topic, genre classrooms are great with fully air conditioned

Hostel Facilities

hostel amenities are bed, wardrobe and a table chair that will be it and yeah a TUBE LIGHT AND A FAN decent menu for first year inclusive of both veg and non veg meals are eatable or decentish registerration form needs to be filled 12000 for hostel per sem and 17000 for mess yearly locality is bad as there are no nearby societies available

I GAVE JEE MAINS EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION AND AS IM A DASA CIWG CANDIDATE MY CUTOFF WAS 325000 FOR COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING IF U WANT TO FIND DASA FORM WHICH IS ONLY APPLICABLE IF U ARE A FOREIGN 10+2 STUDENT ONLY its on official dasa nit website THE ADMISSION PROCESS WAS SMOOTHLY DONE

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
