Course Curriculum Overview

Psychology has always been my dream. The total number of students in our class is 42 with 7 valuable teachers for our guidance and two laboratory assistants. The teaching method includes both interactive and lecture-type classes with smart learning. The tests are at par and I would say that this department is famous for its faculty all around Kolkata.

Internships Opportunities

I am just in 2nd year right now, so I have not come across any placements as such but I have been to two or three internships where I have been given opportunities to make friends with the students of other colleges.

Placement Experience

Placements are usually for internships but still, people go after their masters after their graduation from this college. My plans after my graduation would be to complete my master's and then go for a doctorate.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are nominal for a college with private as well as government aid. The fee for each semester is around seven thousand rupees and each year, we have two semesters. The location of the college is very accessible too.

Campus Life

Though the campus is not too large as shown in Karan Johar's films, I would say that the campus gives an old sophisticated vibe with a garden and rooms with traditional learning methods with smart classrooms as well.

Admission

The eligibility of my course is 3 years. I had to submit the online forms and then wait for the merit lists to be out, once my name came up, I gave the admission fees and got the admission. The process was really smooth and hassle-free.

I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.

I'll be all positive about college. Being from a middle class family of Jamshedpur, it was really great to study there. I really don't have an idea about what people think about college, but it was really home for me. It's a great atmosphere for someone moving out of home for the first time. Choose Wisely

One of the Best college in India.

I had applied for Ashutosh college, Muralidhar college, bethun college and Gokhale Memorial Girl's College for BSC psychology. But I did not get BSC psychology in bethune college so I was waiting for other colleges though my dream college was Gokhale Memorial girls College. First I had got a call from Muralidhar college and then after 2 to 3 days I got a call from vocal Memorial girls College. By call I meant that first my name came in the Muralidhar girls College merit list and then my name was published in the Gokul Memorial girls College merit list as this is my dream college I choose it over other colleges. Do not go by the past glory.

The admission was smooth, but in the payment process, I didn't get my money back from few colleges I applied for but didn't continue. All the candidates should keep an update of news and links of admission. SC and ST will get benifits along with OBCs, Calcutta University has bad placements and the syllabus has become a Little bit difficult.
