Remarks
My college doesn't actually feel like a college and seems more of like a school where I do not have any uniform and I am allowed to carry mobile phones. I am looking forward to my last semester in the college and I have enjoyed my time whatever I had in the college. The college can improve a lot, in many areas.
Entrance Preview
My college comes under Delhi University so I didn't give any entrance exam. I got admission based on my 12th standard percentage. There is no exam for B. com by Delhi University but the university does conduct exams for other courses. I did not give any interview to get admission here. I chose this course because my father advised it.
Course Curriculum Overview
On the paper, one can see that the course curriculum is nicely designed, however when it comes to the implementation, the college lacks. We are given real-life examples by some of our teachers that somewhat covers the practical aspect. I had some electives in my second year and currently, too, I have some electives to choose from. I don't know about any research initiatives going on in the college.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the college hosts internship fairs often for students to be able to fetch some internships but mostly, startups come for taking in students so they provide unpaid internships. The college doesn't give the internship within the college for any research projects. Students do support students who want to get off campus internship if any documentation are needed.
Placement Experience
There are few companies that visit our college for the placements and many students are able to get admission. The placement cell works pretty fine and final year students are able to get decent placements. Since B. Com. as a course is incomplete, so most of the students of my course do not sit for placements as they want to pursue M.Com.
College Events
There are not so many events conducted in the college. Some of the events are Fresher's party, Farewell party, Ethnic Day and Annual Day. The college provides funds for the events and so it can be said that the college authorities contribute to the same.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Mine is a DU college so obviously, fee is very affordable. My fee is somewhat around, Rs. 10000 to Rs. 11000 a year (I don't remember the exact amount). So all in all, I can say that my fee is somewhere between Rs. 30000 to Rs. 35000 a year. I do not live in the hostel so I do not know the hostel fee.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not require any loan because the fee was very affordable. There aren't any scholarships provided by the college so students have to find financial help on their own. There is no loan arrangement done by the college.
Campus Life
My college was kinda average in extra curricular things because students are mostly loaded with classes and get little time to get actively involved in the activities. If one tries, then he or she can take advantage of these facilities.
Hostel Facilities
I have done my schooling in Ghaziabad and now I live in Delhi-NCR only, so I do not need the hostel. I have visited the hostel once or twice and I found the hostel good. There are study tables and almirahs for students. Rooms are either on single or double sharing basis. There are various PGs too, around the college but I do not know their rates.
Alumni/Alumna
I do not have any idea if there is any alumni meet ever organized in the college. My interaction with my seniors is good and they have helped me a lot. Seniors do guide their juniors about different paths and so they contribute to the overall development of the college.
Exam Structure
The exams aren't tiring because it is always pre-announced. We have 2 exams in a semester, internal and external exams. At times, teachers do talk a lot about exams and students feel pressurized but that is always the case with students for their better future.
Faculty
Some of my teachers are very experienced and have done their P.Hd. and other's who haven't done P. Hd., they have at least done their M.A. They are quite interactive and make the boring subjects as interesting. Some teachers are not good and they at times really discourage the students. So overall, the teaching standard is little more than average.
