Course Curriculum Overview

Because this is what I always wanted to do, I have a keen interest in this course. Professors are highly humble and their teaching methods are too good, I am very lucky to have this institute with such amazing professors

Internship opportunities are highly appreciable. I am having one opportunity and currently, I am doing the same. Many of the students are in different internships provided by different companies including tata steel etc.

Placement Experience

College used to provide campus placements. It is the rule basically. Many students are preparing for placements since day 1 and some students are also preparing for civil services exams as per their interests, I will opt for placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fees are 62k per semester and the hostel plus mess charge is 27k per semester. So in total 89k per semester and 178k per year. This is what the structure of fees of nit jamshedpur and there is a bank inside the campus which provides loans to the students

Campus Life

Campus Life is too good. I have had an amazing experience on this campus. There are many clubs in college like roof, acc,phonix, ces etc and 3 main festivals are also there including cultural festival, technical festival and sports festival.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is luxurious, all the facilities that are required for a student aur a human beings to live perfectly is there , there a LAN facilities , students can use free net and can download heavy softwares in there laptops.

Hostel Fee: INR 18000 per year

Admission

Qualification with a good rank in Jee mains is required for getting seats in nit. Counselling will happen and seats will be allotted according to rank. Counselling will be conducted by an authorised body name Jossa. There will be 6 or 7 rounds in total.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
