I choose this course because civil engineering really fascinates me. I want to do further research in this field. Faculties in our college are really good. The placement scenario is also quite good compared to other colleges in my branch.

Internships Opportunities

There are various companies that visit our college from 3rd year only. All of them are paid and many are work from home too. Vocational training is also mandatory for students in 3rd year. Min amount that is offered for an internship is 20k per month

Placement Experience

Students are eligible for on-campus placement from the 4th year and for internship from the 3rd year only. Everyone is required to do an internship for the 8th semester. The highest package provided is 80lpa. 97% of students were placed last year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are comparable as of other nits but there are various scholarships because of which you can study without paying almost anything. There is a zero tuition fee policy for students whose family income is less.

Campus Life

Various fests take place in our college class and cultural fest. Each branch has its own fest too. They too are really good. There are various clubs too like Beatbreakers, go green, aahwaan. There is a sports fest too called urja.

Hostel Facilities

There are 2 or 3 girls per room and 1 or 2 boys per room at hostel. We are provided 4 times meals a day, which is very good as compared to other hostels. There are varieties on the menu for south Indians too.

Hostel Fee: INR 12000 per year

Admission

You have to clear JEE MAIN. Every year between Jan to April josaa releases its application, which can be filled twice and the best rank will be chosen for the results. I cleared Jee main. Then sat in josaa counselling where I got my seat in 2nd or 3rd round.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
